Orange is the New Black

I've been sitting with a sick friend and at her behest started watching the Netflix series "Orange is the New Black." I thought it would be a sappy chick story, but it's funny, engaging, thought provoking. We're about 10 episodes into the first season (in one day!) and it's like popcorn. Just can't put it down. I like it! I feel a little guilty about this.

I'm about 5 episodes into Season 2.

It's a brilliant show. I love seeing how they ended up in prison through their backstories.

It's witty and heartfelt. The episode with the transgender inmate is what hooked me in the first season.

My wife dragged me into it. Some of it is really, really funny.

However, I keep hoping the main character dies horribly, and so far that hasn't happened yet.

Now that Game of Thrones is over, my wife and I are looking for a new show to start. She mentioned this one, but I also thought I wouldn't care for it. Based on this thread I'll give it a shot!

The second season has some interesting character development/back stories on the main characters. Very good series....Poussey is great (double entendre not intended).

The G/F watches it....I find it moves to slow or something....Not into it. But then she's not into my documentary/entertainment shows like museum secrets and such.

There is a lot of that. We're about 3 episodes into season 2 and it looks like they're running out of story and filling the time with lesbian porn. I'm not a connoisseur of lesbian porn but if you say it's low grade I'll take your word for it.

Just finished Season 2 at 1am this morning...It sucks that I have no more to watch and now I'm waiting for next season like the rest of binge watchers.

The wife and I are really enjoying it. Watched the season 1 finale and then had to watch the season 2 premier as it sucked us in.

Only down side is that it could be called "How far can a starship captain fall?" Janeway, is that really you?! You're so...red...
