No wake for me either - just a big party with lots of good music and booze. the must-play tune is Bad by U2.

Actually, that's exactly what a wake is. This thread seems to be intermingling funeral and wake, even though they're very different things. (And I am guilty, too - just going along with the tide)

So, Play "Dead Man" by Neil Young at the funeral, but start the wake off with "Monkey Man" by the Stones and get that party rockin! The booze is free, cuz Mike is buyin!

Rock the house down with ten yrs after and the lead song would be " a space in time"

Party till the weee hours cuz the people that really know me will know that I am partying hard up there.

Let me restate. I used Wake as a euphemism. What I really meant, when you have gone to the great gig in the sky and your buds are hanging (family too). What is that one song, ok maybe two or three, that you leave them with?

To me, death is just a part of life. Once I'm gone, I really don't care what my family does at the wake/funeral (personally, I just wanna be burned and tossed in the ocean). Whatever makes them feel good, I suppose.
