Son's Dance (Was "Inverting Video")

A few weeks ago I asked for help inverting a video. Suggestions For A Video Project Several of you offered help and advice, and pelican 87911jon did me the huge favor of converting the video.

The inverted video was to be projected as the backdrop for my son's dance Capstone performance. At his arts middle school, each kid prepares and performs a personal capstone project as part of completing 8th grade. The theatre kids write and perform short plays, the music kids perform and sometimes compose pieces, the dance kids choreograph and perform dances, the visual arts and writing kids do likewise in their arts.

He actually performed the dance twice, once at the Capstone presentations and again at the school's 8th grade promotion ceremony. I put together a video from the two performances. Sorry for the poor videography, I have the cheapest camcorder you can possibly buy and worse yet I only pick it up 2X year. Looks like I misspelled "Woodkid" in the credits, oops.

Thanks jon!

It has been an incredible middle school experience for him and his classmates. Imagine three years doing the art form you love most for two hours each day with 450 other kids from every walk of life, brought together by a common interest in music, art, dance, and theatre. Despite budget pressures, they have good facilities and a great teaching staff, and their core curriculum is taught efficiently and well. He's going on to a good public high school, where his sister just graduated with a very good education. I feel lucky: my kids' schools really are an example of the best in public schools.

Stunning!

And I have a very gifted 8th grade artist to compare with. Your son is remarkably advanced and focused.

Congratulations
Larry

Very cool, thanks for sharing.

Kind of a little reminiscent of the Lindsey Stirling video for the song Shadows.

8th grade?

What a wonderful capstone project, executed with panache and athleticism, style.

Any young person that can figure that out, can bring that to stage at his age is on an arc that will lead to wonderful things.

Happy Father's Day indeed.

Wow!

I had NO idea!

(I've met Coltrane a couple of times, and he is one of the most polite, gentle, funny kids I've met in a long time - I'm pretty sure if I'da had this much talent and ambition in the 8th grade I'd be an insufferable jerk to everyone I met!)

John and Coltrane, Congratulations to both of you!
