Harley EVO Porting Tricks

Anyone want to share what they have done to improve ?
I believe i have successfully ported / polished one shovel ,
One Porsche 911 ,
And now going to try the evo.
The latter all had great dyno numbers.!
But B4 I reinvent the wheel I thought i would just ask.
Here are the specs
This is stock stroke, with 85 inch Axtell drop in with 10. 5 CR
D.M. 530 cam and some tulip valves.
Dual plug single fire.
Terry craved the heads so the little offset dome would not hit heads too hard ( LOL)
Your thoughts?

Ever consider having a pro do them? I just had Baisely do the heads on my old Ironhead Sportster; I could not be happier. They did their "Superstock" job, with the addition of their roller tipped rockers. Not cheap, but with the addition of 10:1 Wiseco pistons and Andrews R5 cams, it sure made for a noticeable bump in power. They work on all Harleys and, apparently soon, 911's.

Jeff
i always respect what you have to say
So, Nah, I like to learn.
I like to do it myself.
I payed Branch to do a set in the late 70s.
I think 300 bucks then.
A friend of mine could out run me no problem. stock bike.
lesson Learned the hard way.
lots of HYPE
What I am doing -
Smoothing valve seats to head both sides.
All ruff edges gone in combustion chamber
Back side of vales pplished
Tops of pistons polished
The normal air transfer in front of guides (upside dwn boat)
think i will call it about good there , see how it goes.

I'm certainly no expert on head porting, but from what little I've managed to learn over the years, it sounds like you are on the right track. Most references I've read and folks who claim to know the voodoo magic of this pretty much agree with what you are doing - just clean them up, really, eliminating the sharp edges, casting imperfections, and that kind of thing. From what I understand that, and some attention in the valve guide area (your "upside down boat") makes for some real gains without risking ruining the heads. "Size matters" - don't make them bigger, just make them smoother. When I looked at what Baisely did on my Sportster heads, and what Mark Sutton did on my Ducati heads, that's all they really did. Have fun - let us know how it goes.
