Anyone else watch the first episode of this show? The concept seems very interesting.

"Barry" seems like a complex character. Lots of room with him. He seems to have a firm head on his shoulders, but the final scene showing him with the gun as a kid was an interesting twist.

Jamal is clearly a psychopath. There's no way he won't recover and reign terror again.

Jamal's wife seems to be the person with the real ambitions for Jamal.

Barry's wife was probably the worst part of the show. The character is vapid and annoying--no way a guy like Barry would tolerate her. "You have to tell your father how you feel." She says. Does she not understand that in a dictatorship, people get killed (if they are lucky) for telling the dictator "how they feel"?

Barry's son seems to take after his mother. I predict he gets killed...probably after being discovered in a bath house.

Yup. Liked itso far.... Very "a propos" after all that happened in the region... The US embassy guy is from Weeds, there's a story there too, I'm sure...
