More accurately, does anyone in the world even buy/sell $5 bags any more? I mean, what would that get you? A teaspoon of shake?

Two Idaho cops detained a man after mistaking his gripes about the Canadian rock band, Nickelback, for an alleged drug deal.
Deputies with Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office stopped two men outside a Coeur d’Alene gas station on June 20 after hearing what they thought was a pot deal.
The confrontation caught on video is only five minutes long and doesn’t show the beginning or the end of their interaction, but it captures the moments leading to a deputy pulling his gun on the young men and detaining one of them for reportedly “getting that attitude” and “being an ass---.”

The video begins after a deputy allegedly saw one of the men step out of a van with a wad of cash and another saying, “Yeah, nickel sack for sure,” a possible reference to a nickel bag of marijuana.
But the two young men allege their conversation was taken out of context and lost in translation because the deputies had just missed a truck leaving the gas station moments prior playing Nickelback at an unfortunate volume.
“No, Nickelback. That guy was blaring Nickelback,” the man holding a cell phone camera defended. “There was no nickel sack involved.”

“He’s talking about drugs. He’s not talking about Nickelback,” the deputy spewed back. “We’re not born yesterday. That’s a bull---- story. He said nickel sack.”

I have never quite understood the hate for Nickelback.

If is like the silly Chuck Norris bit where he is so tough that .... ???

I have heard TONS of bands and songs orders of magnitude worse than Nickleback. I do not own any Nickleback and I am not a big fan but I just don't understand the hate for them. Then again I am just an old grumpy white man and on not part of what is "cool or hip" and I never have been.

I've never heard the term "nickle sack." "Nickle bag" yes, "nickle sack" - no. I think the deputy has a screw loose.

I think that is the song that makes me hate them the most. It is mediocre at best, and that is being very kind, but the radio stations feel the need to play it 14 times a day for years on end.

Maybe this is it. They try to sound hard edged, but really are just a cutsie little pop song making machine. I honestly don't know why, but I have always hated them, right from the start.
