Thinking of common, simple objects that were invented decades or more ago and which are still used in basically the same iteration...

Not sure this qualifies as an "invention", but my brother told us how impressed he was recently when he pulled our father's 40-year-old+ 17' stern-end aluminum Grumman canoe out of his barn. He said it looks brand-new...with no maintenance whatsoever over the years.
