Very Disturbing
I find it mind boggling that one of the most recognized landmarks in NYC has been compromised.
The NYPD has tons of cameras and patrols watching the Brooklyn Bridge. Two white flags replaced the always flying US flags by some unknown perpetrator. Mysterious white flags appear atop Brooklyn Bridge I'm not feeling too safe right now. I guess the NYPD was busy choking a ruthless criminal to death to watch the bridge. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/wDVR7gQVwlU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Both stories are shameful. |
The French have seized the bridge??
|
Vin, normally I would laugh. But in light of the fact that someone breached the "security" at the bridge I find it upsetting. It could just as well been an explosive.
|
So you're from New York and you come on here complaining about New York (again)?
Perhaps its time to leave New York? I've been there. I can understand why some would leave. My grandfather left Brooklyn in 1958. |
Crazy. How did they get past the cameras?

Nostril,
I'm complaining about the fact that the police are supposed to be doing their job. I love this city and will never leave. Art, food, theater, you know, the things you will never understand unless you were born here. This is not a discussion about me. If I offend you I am sorry. I did not realize that i was offensive. |

I was born and raised in Los Angeles. The LAPD are certainly NOT doing their job. I woke up one morning and realized that the LA I knew and loved was gone. I found myself getting more and more angry. So I left. I'm much happier now. Granted, Im not a New Yorker. But my grandfather is a total hardass Italian mechanic from Brooklyn. Perhaps I have some perspective, lol :D |

The Brooklyn Bridge is supposedly one of the most secure and highly guarded landmarks in NYC because it is considered a target and yet some yahoo's have breached and done it without being caught. Great, glad I live in the woods.
|
They need to go back and review the surveillance tape.
Does today or yesterday's date have some significance on the Muslim calendar? |

I just never see me leaving. My business and family have me too firmly anchored here. I guess I'll have to grin and bear it. Cheers |
I am not surprised didn't a couple of base jumpers breached the "security" of a building under construction near the site of the former twin towers a few months ago.
|
Well, at least all this extra security isn't getting in anyones way or costing much. ...oh wait.
|
it's to show us ...
that they need more $$$... more cameras.. more battle wagon's... more everything... to keep us safe... protect us from .................. Rika |

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1406064988.jpg Going over the Brooklyn bridge. Hundreds of thousands go over that bridge daily at all hours there are people on that bridge. Amazing! people have done this. The freedom tower and the base jumpers is a different story. Those guys jumped about 6 months before it was reported. It is a construction site guarded by the cheapest staff the contractor wants to pay. I was working there when it happened and when it made the press. Reason it made the press was a 16 year old got through security and took the outside elevator to the top and was taking pictures before someone realized he didn't belong. The security company was fired and a new one took over. The new one hired most of the old staff nothing changed. |
