Couple of questions BeeMaster:
1). I've read single bee stings can be medically beneficial to the nervous system.
True?

2). I've read honey helps human immunization because it's a sample blend of all the bacteria/pollen around, combined with the bee's anti-antigen.
True?

Dunno about #1, but #2 is true. Not just any honey, though; it's gotta be local honey.

I have tried #2 for some minor allergy from a local bee farm. I was eating the stuff for a month with no result so I would have to say no. Some people swear by it and eat it daily.

The bee population is in a state of turmoil. Huge die-offs and without bees, we lose a lot of the flora we need.

Africanized bees have interbred with indigenous bees and become far less aggressive. Nevertheless, aggravating any bee colony is a risky venture. For some reason mud dauber wasps like my house, so they are my flying insect threat du jour.

If they are the blue ones then they could be addressing your black widow population.

Mud Dauber Wasp

I had a nest of those suckers many years ago. It was built under the eve of our 2 story home over the main garden area we relaxed in. I threw a tennis ball up there to dislodge and about 5 or so wasps came shooting out of there on a mission. Big, fast, and angry. I dodged into the open door to the garage Handled later that day with a can of wasp spray.

I saw a show on unusual medical treatments tht had a whole section on bee venom. The main portion that I remember was that they had a bunch of folks in the UK with arthritis that would go to a Dr office weekly and get their hands stung by bees. Apparently, the bee stings helped with the arthritis.

I've heard the same. What I've heard is that it's got to be local honey so that the pollen that you experience that causes allergic reaction is the pollen that the bees gathered. I know that most honey has beeen highly filtered, I wonder if unfiltered honey would be better or if this actually works at all.

Bee sting acupuncture...

Bee sting therapy treats illnesses from arthritis to cancer in China, but U.S. health experts call it 'quackery' - NY Daily News

#1 yes it can help with the symptoms of some arthritis and MS but not cure it, it also jacks up your immune system, I rarely get sick and none of my cuts or slivers ever get
Infected.

As for the effect on allergies it only helps if the plant the honey came from is what you are allergic to and it doesn't have a immediate effect. Yes as local as possibly is best

Yes it has to be unfiltered for it to have a affect on allergies,

I was told to consume only dark and nasty natural stuff and not the filtered honey.

I am sure you get sting all the time, does it still hurt like if someone's trying to put out a cigarette on your skin?

I've been stung by bees several times over my life (not a bee keeper, just a kid that played outside). From the time I was 13 or so, I don't remember a bee sting being all that uncomfortable. Wasp, hornet, yellow jacket stings, those hurt much more than bee stings. I still wouldn't want the African killer bees to gang up on me.

I still feel the poke yes and then the pain is over. Most of the time it does slow me a lot. how much it hurts depends on where I get stung. Arms legs and hands don't hurt as much. Pink skin hurts a lot more. Under the finger nail, in the nose , near your eye, or the side of your head can hurt a lot for a longer time. I where a veil long pants with my sox tucked in, and a long sleeve shirt with the sleeves rolled up over a t-shirt when I go in the bees, I don't where a big white suit.

I've got a small yellow jacket nest in the garage which I'm loving.
The buggers are eating all the asparagus worms.
This year I haven't lost a single stalk.

Never been a problem, and I regret destroying the nest before.
If I get close for too long they start moving around and buzzing loudly, then I move away slow for a bit.
I figure most animals won't waste energy attacking without reason.

For anyone who doesn't get stung regularly it would hurt like heck and swell up but my body is used to it. Now on a really really bad day I might swell up a little but not bad.
