Pick up truck tonneau cover question
Looking for a soft tonneau cover for my 2014 F150. Something I can use when going on trips to cover luggage etc. the rest of the time, the bed will be open and any hardware removed.
Ideas or experiences with any covers? Last edited by A930Rocket; 11-02-2014 at 06:35 AM.. |

I have one by Access on my 2006 supercrew KR and love it. It is eight years old now and does not leak at all. It also still looks very good.FYI I thought I would not like it covered all the time but only roll it up when I need to haul something. Good luck John Szabo

My in-laws have a BakFlip, sort of a mix between hard and soft. It will leak in heavy rain but they otherwise like it. I have a color matched fiberglass tonneau as we wanted weather tight and lockable, I would definitely go that route again.

I bought a lockable hard top tonneau for my 15 Tundra. I can take it off in under a minute and it comes with hooks to hang it. The truck is silver so I went with the standard black. Looks great.
I kept my 2004 F150 for farm duty so I won't be taking the cover off for a while ![]() I also decided to just get a fitted rubber bed pad rather than a liner of any type. That has also worked well. Nothing slides around at all.

My old truck had a hard cover by ARE. It was great and lockable.
This time around, I wanted to try a soft cover. I see roll up types and tri-fold types. Also, I don't want any permanent fasteners. |

I also have a Bedrug in my F150. Great for using it as a big trunk. It has also held up well (and cleaned up) after hauling rock, dirt, lumber, etc.

That really helped me decide on which way to go. I almost went for a roll up model but after playing with the scale model I decided against it. Too complicated. I also approached a few guys that had the type on cover I thought I wanted. Everyone was very helpful. I asked a guy at the transfer station who had a trifold cover if he liked it. He said it worked great except in winter, often not opening at all. Good luck!
