Eight months and Seven Thousand dollar later, Windermere cries "Uncle!"

Eight months and nearly SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS later, Windermere cries "Uncle!"

That's right. They finally paid up after "Class Certification" was mentioned for the second time . Got my rent deposits back, and they paid my attorney's $5000 fees, as well as the filing fee.

They tried to make me squash my Yelp review, but I wasn't having any of that. They earned their review 100%. I suggested to my lawyer that he mention Class Certification once more... he did, and then they cried "Uncle!"

They could have finished this with a simple return of my deposit when they were supposed to.

.. a brand new white/anodized 16x7 Fuchs to replace the one I broke a few years ago?
Never did find a suitable replacements for it. I hate driving the 911 with one mismatched wheel. Consequently, it's been driven less than 500 miles since 2009...

Congrats!

I just don't get it. Washington State Landlord/Tenant law is very clear. Black and white. Any professional property manager knows that when a home is vacated, the deposit must be returned within 14 days. Simply return the deposit, or give an accounting of any funds withheld within 14 days, and everybody carries on merrily, instead of facing off in court.

Just dumb..... Glad you taught them a lesson.

Yep. You're right. Funny thing is, that even their attorney who is apparently well known by the Tenants Association, tried to argue with mine about the law, stating we were wrong.
Tenants Association told me they were known for representing craplords.

Great news to hear. It was a pretty long road to travel. I wonder if they kept thinking you'd cave and just kept getting in deeper.

Excellent, score one for the little guy! It took guts to stand up to the deep pockets of corporate America.
