Sad news... Jordi Riera just passed today...

Many of us old timers know Jordi Riera very well. He was one of the nicest guys I have ever met in the Porsche world...

He also was a well known expert in the firearms world and we would meet from time to time when in Vegas and go take care of some paper targets...

He will be missed and the world is a far lesser place now that he has Flown West...

BTW, he passed of a brain tumor. They operated on him but it just did not work out...

Joe A

Update, 8/6! Prayers needed for Jordi (Mad Spaniard) - Nevada Shooters

And his last post on the Nevada Shooters board...

http://www.nevadashooters.com/showthread.php?t=54489

Please keep him and his family in your prayers tonight...

Very sad news. Jordi was one of the good guys. He picked me up at the airport when I came out from the east coast and drove me over to the local BMW dealer to rent a bike and then drove my stuff to my hotel while I rode. He taught Mrs. Lee how to shoot and really helped her turn a corner. I ran into him at SHOT a few times and we got together in Vegas and Phoenix once in a while. He will be missed. He leaves behind a wife and two young kids.

How very sad. Jordi spent a week in Wellington, sort of working, so basically we spent a week driving around going to beaches and cafes. Someone who I always held in a very high regard.

Jordi was a wonderful...and brilliant man. Would give you the shirt off of his back. A real gentleman. I did not even know he was ill. God bless him and his family.

Jordi was one of the good guys - I'm really sad to hear this. He was a regular at our original little Saturday morning coffee gatherings in starting about 2003. He had great stories and what a humble guy... This is the last time I saw him. He had moved to Vegas but flew back to Dallas to buy Amac's car and drove it home. He'll be missed.

Oh boo...

When I first started posting here, I took a road trip in the spyder (circa 2006). He made sure that I had his #, etc., so if I had difficulty with the car or needed a place to stay when I passed through Vegas that I could reach him. Very nice fellow. His kindness was one of the reasons I stayed on Pelican and why I've never felt alone traveling with any of the Porsches. It's like having a big extended "car-guy" family.

Very sorry to hear he is gone. Vaya con Dios mi amigo...

What a bummer. He gave me a brand new carrera steering wheel and would not take a dime for it. We talked 930s for a good solid hour in his garage looking over the black car above...
