				Woodworkers - input needed

My wife's sister made this for my wife when they were in college back in the 80's - a small tabletop for writing on the floor. It has stood the test of time rather well, except for one section on the 'Marines' sticker that has started to chip off. My daughter is now making one for herself to take to college. My question is, what type of poly/varnish would be best for this? Whatever they used back when they made the original is thick, hard, smooth, and hasn't yellowed at all. It there a product like that out there that will stand up similarly well? Reco's?

Probably polyurethane. Lots of bars covered with that stuff that has stood the test of time.

I would use oil based polyurethane.

liquidglasscoating.com. That's what you really need but there are other pour over resin out there for bar top or crafts.

+1 Any other woodworking finish may damage the paper/affect colors - cause them to bleed
