Dreams video by Van Halen

Anyone know where I can get/buy the video of Van Halen "Dreams" with the blue angels?
I'm going to visit my dad after work, maybe for the last time (he is 90, has three son's, started and ran a successful HVAC business, had a good run)... he was air force (not career) and I would like to play the video at his service.

Thanks in advance

Not sure if thats the original one, though. I seem to remember them using A4's.

The video is on one compilation tape. Used to have it years ago.

Yeah, this is the one:

Van Halen - Dreams (Blue Angels) - YouTube

Anyway to buy or upload a video off youtube?

I looked up Dreams video on Amazon and got the compilation DVD... but in the comments someone specifically complained the "Dreams video was NOT the blue angels one."

There are about a dozen videos of the song (with the blue Angels) on youtube and other sites so the video is out there.
I'm not trying to break the law, buying the MP3 of the audio is easy... buying the video appears to be a little more tricky. I am willing to buy the whole DVD (I'm a VH fan anyway) if I can find one with the Blue Angels on it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Yo Scott,

Thanks for your Dad's service to the country....and for being a great human being too.

Could you use some kind of laptop, notebook, tablet, etc. and just have whichever VH/Dreams/Blue Angels video you choose all ready to play - and then just click on the link?

They make media streaming projectors too for large audience presentations. Not my field of expertise but someone (Stomach Monkey for one) might be able to advise you better.

Sorry to hear about your Dad.

Here is the old(er) video...

http://www.popmodal.com/video/3183/Van-Halen-Dreams-Blue-Angels-HD-

I kinda like the newer video, but I would buy either if I can.

Thanks for the idea Baz, not sure what the internet is like at our church... and I'm already shaky... pretty sure I will either be numb or a basket case at the service... I am a tech and doubt I will be much help when the day comes... I know we have a DVD player connected up to the projectors and sound system so if I could get my hands on a DVD I could just hand that to whoever is running the P.A.

Technically he flew P-47's (to give you an idea how long ago he was in the AF) but I doubt I can find a VH video with P-47's

But seriously, he lived tough life and fought for everything he had which made him a bit of a hardass and difficult to deal with, and grow up with, therefor the words to the song are kinda important.

Send a message via AIM to Gogar
I heard from a friend that you can get an app wherein you can download a YouTube video to your computer.

Scott, I've seen many occasions where DVD's are created for occasions like this - there are companies who can do it - funeral homes know who they are or you could check with some local printing services or photography shops. Not only could they incorporate that video but also photos of your dad, family and friends, and P-47's, etc.

Not sure how much time you have to work with but they can usually turn these things around pretty quick.

FWIW - I get very emotional at funerals - I bawl like a baby - it happens, man.

Dreams came out in 1986, the final year of the Blue Angels in A-4s. I seem to remember A-4s being used too but I can't find any proof.

Side note: At least one of the BA F-18s is original to the team, maybe two. 27 years!

The song was used in 2 promotional music videos for the United States Navy's flight demonstration team Blue Angels (first video where they fly the A-4 Skyhawk and a second one where they fly the F/A-18 Hornet).

That video still gives me chills even though I've seen it a hundred times. Reminds me of a few early mornings just after dawn flying out over the desert north / east of El Centro heading to Imperial during my cargo rat days. If I timed it just right I'd be heading in there right as the Blue Angels would be starting their practice and you could see them a few miles off to the west in the restricted area. One of the truly awesome perks of that job - being able to see stuff like that.

All the best to you and your dad. Very cool idea!

The second link I posted (popmodal) is the A-4s.
Saw dad last night and he was in pretty good sprits for guy in such bad shape (he is pretty much down to zero bodyfat, he keeps the thermostat at 80, when I went to hug him when I left he felt like a skeleton. However he was still spunky enough to try to sell me their CRV (they are way past driving now, they will keep mom's Cadillac for the caregiver to drive them around in).

Good idea about filming a bunch of his old AF photos and putting them into a collage, thanks Baz
