Seinfeld takes 918 for coffee
The car is very cool and Seinfeld was pretty cool, but the dude filming the video was a total douche. I assume he was paparazzi, "Jerry, nice car. Jerry, you rock. Jerry, can I have your man-love child?" Well, that may not be a direct quote, the guy was clearly a douche. I think it's cool that Jerry took time to talk to the one guy and his kid and ignored the douche.

He handles fame about as well as anyone would/could/should, in my opinion. Talk about the bird cage.
Nice car.

Jerry should have berated the douche guy for pronouncing it "Porsh". That would have been funny.

I heard a very successful public person say the other day that the only thing they don't have, the only thing they miss is their anonymity.
FWIW, I've met JS a few times a P car gatherings. He was at all times a gentleman and a decent person. I hope others who share this passion (sickness?) treat him the same way!

Wait a minute....anonymity? Let's say you or I (humble not-so-famous citizens) drive a new 918 Spyder for coffee...what are the odds of "blending in". If you're Jerry Seinfeld or any mega famous celebrity, get in your $1M 918 and head to the coffee shop...I'm guessing anonymity is not a big concern. Have to wonder if he wasn't disappointed there wasn't an army of Paparazzi. Why else would you do this if you were concerned about anonymity? Nothing against JS, but he's clearly not concerned about blending in. Guessing he likes the exposure and perhaps was even advised by his agent to get some front-page pics in the press. This was a good way to do it.

I've known Jerry and worked for him off and on for more than 20 years. He is genuinely a super nice and generous guy. He gets bombarded with numbskulls asking idiotic questions and stupid comments constantly. He is totally approachable at venues like the LA Lit Meet and will talk about Porsche stuff at length.
The price of fame is the adoring public. Including the D-bags.

Seinfeld takes 918 for coffee
I wouldn't want to be a celebrity because I don't think I'd be able to resist telling off morons like that. Seriously, these people have nothing better to do with their time than to act like fools in the presence of other people who just happen to have gotten lucky in life? Why not go try to make something of yourself instead of being a boot-licker?
Sheesh. Cool car. I bet JS is a decent guy to people who aren't stupid to him like that.

Even if the guy was a 'douche', Jerry was unnecessarily arrogant and dismissive. What does he expect though? Bringing a car out like that and saying its just 'doing coffee' is a bit of an understatement....

See that's how video works.....The part you probably don't see is the douche being a bigger douche earlier, resulting in what appears to be Jerry being dismissive....

And JS did talk to 2 relatively regular folks that had been checking out his car and even shock their hands.

But he's not new at this. Taking his 918 to the track or even to a P-car club event is one thing. But it's hard NOT to see this as a planned publicity-seeking event. That car is a neon sign even to people who wouldn't know a Porsche from a Hyundai. No...not feeling very sorry for him on this one. If anything, it's surprising there weren't dozens of Paparazzi there. Perhaps there were.
Heck...we're all watching the video as are thousands of others. Good, free publicity for Jerry and Porsche at a time in his career where he's at risk of going stale. Cool car, good guy...but not one who's concerned about anonymity.

As Mike mentioned in his post, the car can destroy any anonymity that any of us "normal" people might have. We experienced this back in Jan. 2003 when we bought our Mini Cooper S and nearly every time we would stop someplace we would get asked about it, want to see inside, etc, etc. It got so bad that we used to plan extra time if needed so we could talk about it. That was back when you might see one or two a week in the San Diego area at most. We thought our brush with "fame" was pretty neat.

I'd much rather drink a beer with a nice guy who says Porsh than spend 1 second of my life with someone who has a coronary about someone saying Porsh.
