For a LONG time....and save room for their attorney and the judge who went for that STUPIDENZA defense too IMO :(

Saw a documentary on the kid/family a while back....they all deserve nothing more...

The kid landed on the "Go directly to jail" do not pass go and collect $200 square.

Shame it'll take a few days to get him extradited... Mexican prisons are rough I hear.

She was sentenced to three years of probation, a one-year suspension of her license, a $2,800 fine and 750 hours of community service.

I did not read through those links. That is a same the rich get off with probation. I suspect neither of those cases involved broken parole and running from the judge.

I've been hearing in the news that he "may face jail time" now. WTF? How can it be anything but "100% will do years of hard time" now?

Wealth has its privileges. You can have all the justice you can afford.

"The O.J. Simpson case was not about race, it was about fame. If O.J. wasn't famous he'd have been known as Orenthal the bus driving murderer." --Chris Rock

The proper blend of fame and/or wealth gets you through the American justice system with as few scars as your fame/wealth allows. The improper blend, as we see eventually with O.J., the affluenza kid and Martin Shkrelli, will only delay your punishment.

Still under Juvi court.

If he goes to jail it will be until turns 19.

Stupid thing is he turns 19 in April. He was 6 months away from the whole thing going away.

Now they WILL move it to adult court and he can get 10 years per person he killed.

He will skate. This country is a joke.
Ethan Couch, 'affluenza' teen, in Mexico, say officials. - CNN.com

Don Ro 12-29-2015 03:09 PM

"If Couch ends up on adult probation, Wilson said, and violates it as an adult, he could face up to 40 years in jail. Couch could also find himself behind bars for longer if he is found to have committed any new crimes and is charged and convicted as an adult for those crimes."

I say the little snot nosed prick will continue to act out his arrogance once released.
His behavior patterns may be carved in stone...I think we'll hear from him again.
I hope so, anyway.
Those are some parents he has...children, themselves.

Watching this on the news tonight. Texas law as a minor he's only facing 4 months in jail for breaking probation and his mom up to 5 years in jail for helping.

Just making things way worse by running after that video showed up of the kid at a party drinking.. not sure what they were thinking he had it pretty good for killing 4 people only 10 years probation. Glad they got caught though! :D

I've been trying to figure out why he ran.

It only makes things worse.

The only thing I can come up with is they thought since he'd only serve jail time for probation violation until he hit 19 why not just disappear until a few days before his birthday then turn himself in.

My guess is that was their plan, but they got caught early.

I just hope they throw the book at the mother.

If you bought the affluenza defense, you bought into the parents' responsibility for the kid's failure to know right from wrong. The parents, therefore, are "unindicted co-conspirators." Now, that same parent actively participated in another action that was unquestionably wrong. She is an adult. She does know right from wrong. It's time she paid for her part in the original crime. She needs the maximum sentence allowed by law, IMO.

I agree with Don, that kid will not be able to stay out of trouble for the next eight years. He'll do big boy jail time in the near future.

In the more money than brains department, why order a pizza with your own cell phone? Buy a prepaid disposable at Wally's for crying out loud if you need a cell or use the hotel phone.

Because he is stupid.

flipper35 12-30-2015 09:43 AM

That's a given. For sure. I guess three dollars and change would be more money than brains for him.

A930Rocket 12-30-2015 09:49 AM

How is it that they are "wealthy" and do stupid **** like this? I guess we have to define wealthy.

flipper35 12-30-2015 10:09 AM

Sounds like his dad stumbled into making a success out of his business somehow. Same business the dad from American Chopper was in before bikes.

GH85Carrera 12-30-2015 10:17 AM

We can only hope some valid civil suits from the family of the 4 people he killed will drain some of the family money. I hope all three of them spend some time in prison. Many years each.
