Son's Lawn Mower Git'n a Bit Out Of Control...

And the mods continue...last week he did the canopy (from an old folding chair) and this week its a horn...

We did go out today and he bought an aerator. I guess there are some folks who cut their own grass and he couldn't get the business. He came up with the idea of offering to aerate their lawn for $20. His mentality is that while not everyone wants him to cut their grass at least he gets some business...

Can you spot all the mods?

Only in Texas...

Noah930 09-01-2014 09:59 PM

It's Texas. Where are the Boss Hogg steer horns?

Schumi 09-01-2014 10:03 PM

Have him ride that around his high school and you won't have problems with chicks wanting to send him nudes via text much longer.

porsche4life 09-01-2014 10:06 PM

Mike... Its texas... That will make it worse! He will be walking around singing this!

Too funny! I should! It could be a new form of birth control !!!

Oh Haha 09-02-2014 04:29 AM

Cool! You have to admire his desire to work to get what he wants.

Is that a Ted Nugent tshirt he's wearing?

Mike, when I was that age we lived in Hawaii & I mowed yards. No off season, always another yard to mow. Then we moved to Montgomery, Alabama on base at Maxwell, AFB. They have a minimum security federal prison on base. The prisoners mow the yards on base for everyone for free. It is hard to compete with free!

My brother & I went in 1/2s on a edger. The prisoners did not edge at all. Some yards had not been edged in years. We were busy!

You son is having too much fun! Congrats on a good kid. The future needs his type.

Watch out for that exhaust coming out at face level. My grandfathers old tractor is that way and I don't like it. I am sure your sons lawn tractor doesn't pollute as much but still.

Your next project should be a customized Bugatti type grill for that beast......Get him living the dream early!!!!!!;)

911SauCy 09-02-2014 08:16 AM

Smart kid. Identifying multiple points of entry to the market and delivering respective services for monetary benefit.

He'll do just fine ;)

Sweet ride, but I'd detail that exhaust stack with a flapper.

FastCarFan 09-02-2014 09:42 AM

Here's some inspiration for him.

A teenager mowing yards for Bux is a lost art...I did plenty in my day after getting up at 3:30 for the paper route...You should be proud...

Funny you mention that ! He does have a flap but it doesn't produce enough force to open it up. It was on last year.

scottmandue 09-02-2014 10:23 AM

Needs more cowbell!

C'mon Dad...

Add a little arm off the other end, with a decent length bolt that you can add nuts to. For a precise counterweight.

Strangely that came across as I'd done this before

M.D. Holloway 09-02-2014 10:55 AM

I offered that as a solution - still couldn't get the right weight balance. I think its worth investigating further. Maybe if we tried metric nuts / bolts?:D:D:D

wdfifteen 09-02-2014 12:30 PM

He's going to need more horsepower to haul all the modifications around!

scottmandue 09-02-2014 03:10 PM

Come on dad that muffler is just not cutting it (pun intended) chrome baby!

Agreed!
I thought this thred might be about kids saying "in a bit" which I'm sick and tired of.
He's a good kid. Knows what he wants and works for it. Nice

fastfredracing 09-02-2014 03:54 PM

Be proud of your son, you have the makings for the next generation of gearhead there, and it is great to see a young one with a strong work ethic. Lord knows, I did my share of mowing . Just don't let him blow his earnings in the accessories isle of Pep boys...

That's a machine that's meant for work, not parading around on Sunday afternoon with the other trailer queens!

Actually from one of his great grand fathers 1950's FarmAll...he did have a old International tool box on the back but took it down for the canopy.
