Gunsmiths - Advise, please.

I'm refurbishing my SKS stock and found this crack.
What's the best way to seal/repair this so that the repair won't show after I stain and seal the stock?
.
I used a spanner to open the crack to show it better.
.
Also, is True Oil a good final coat on a stock?
.
Thanks for any advice.
.
Edit: Then again, I have boiled linseed oil and maybe I'll try the master's way.

Squirt some super glue gel in there, press it closed tight, wipe off excess.

SKS should be entirely utilitarian. Clear laquer in a rattle can OR applied with a paintbrush. Maybe stain first, depending.

For a "correct" finish, it depends on where your SKS was made...

Don, it's an SKS. You refinish it any way you want and I'll trade you for one w/o cracks.

Thanks, boys.
It's a Chinese Norinco 56, BTW.
So, doing any of the suggested, the bonding agent(s) will take on the stain?
.
I know, it's not like it's a collector's piece...just am into this and want it to look good.
The original finish looked orange-ish and as if it was painted on w/a broom.
All clumpy and full of debris.
But damn!, now that it's stripped, this stock is virgin.
I'll proceed.

I would clamp it first to make sure the crack closes all the way. After that a little superglue (I use the liquid not the gel as it flows a little deeper into the crack) and clamp again until it sets. Either use lacquer or tung oil for the finish.

I use this...Buy Satellite City Super T Instant CA Glue, Med, 2 Ounces at Woodcraft.com
or this:Buy Satellite City Hot Stuff Instant CA Glue, Thin, 2 Ounces at Woodcraft.com
be careful with it as you cannot feel it on your skin. I glued myself to a stock once. Thank god I had some acetone around. doh!
