IMO this board is being used as a test bead by folks working on some nefarious bot code. Is the goal to overwhelm places like Pelican BBS with billions of automated posts and traffic or something more complex...

Paranoid perhaps but the shill attempts here have definitely become less obvious to spot. Post count being a key indicator. What if they can bump the post count tracker or worse take over existing user accounts ...

Yeah, that's what tipped me off. Pretty clever camouflage, actually. It's a quick-and-dirty way to post something that appears relevant to the thread with no real effort.

I also notice that they post very early in the morning, probably because of the country they're from.

I always use the report icon when I see them, but I was thinking it might be nice if "we" knighted a moderator who lived in an earlier time zone that could knock them off right away.

Thanks to the current moderators though, as they do ban them quickly.
