Derek Jeter Gatorade Commercial
Just a little something to let us know there are still athletes that inspire us.

Nice commercial, but wonder if he ever did that stuff without the cameras rolling.

Great commercial, but just that...a commercial.
I can't stand professional sports (the "balls') which makes me either a bad judge or a non-biased source...who knows. However, I can see how Jeter is the Barry Bonds or Babe Ruth of his era.

Yeah he's probably a child molester or a wife beater. Geez. Happy Friday to you too.

G'day!

Thanks Kurt - no cynical comment from me, brother. I'm with you on Jeter being the real deal.
My heart sinks every time I see a negative headline about an athlete. Kids need role models - now more than ever with the increase in single parent families. Again - appreciate you bringing some joy to me heart today - sir. All the best, Baz

Jeter is a Pro's Pro.
Not sure I would put Barry Bonds in the same sentence w Jeter. Bonds #'s are great but at what cost? AFAIK Jeter played by the rules. Matt

My comparison would be Derek Jeter is today's Cal Ripken Jr.

Again, not a sports guy...have no idea what Bonds' numbers or the costs were, just that he was a big name I'd heard before. Perhaps I shouldn't have opened my yapper ![]() FWIW, I met Cal Ripken Jr in the DC airport and asked for his autograph because that's what you're supposed to do right? He laughed at me and walked the other way... -Baz- I wasn't trying to be cynical, just my thoughts...perhaps they are? Sorry if I was Debbie downer on this gorgeous Friday afternoon.

No worries, this ain't PARF!
Also reminds me to never ask for an autograph from Cal. Better to remember them as I think they are, opposed to how they are. Matt

Asking for an autograph today isn't like it was in years past. With Ebay, Craigslist and the like, these guys are seeing their autographs pop up for sale frequently. Most are willing to take a photo with you (more personal) but sign your baseball (with the chance you'll throw it up on Ebay for $250?) no thanks.
