1964 Ford Falcon

A buddy of mine was telling me about the 1964 Ford Falcon that he bought new.

He still has it. He sold it to his parents when he joined the Army. It has 80,000 miles and has been sitting in a garage untouched for 25 years. It is all 100% original.

He is looking to sell it and get it out of the garage. He has no real interest in having it fixed up for whatever reason.

He really does not know what it is worth. He does not want to get ripped off but he know it is not a $20,000 car.

Anyone here have a rough idea what a 260 V8 Ford Falcon might be worth.

260 V8 helps. Manual? Hardtop? Coupe? Futura? Sprint? Colors?

It approaches perfection of lightweight, tossable, simple, etc, IMO.

It's worth quite a bit….that is probably the most desirable model.

I just picture what Arron on the TV show "Fast & Loud" did with his 63 Falcon. It became a beautiful, badass race car.

My 1st car and the only "American" car/truck I've ever owned. Bought in high school in 1968. PO had put in a 289 4-barrel from a Mustang. 4-speed, bucket seats and this color......2nd year of college I sold it to buy a 1959 AH 100-6......Dumb move.

No idea on the value of your buddies '64, but $20K could be in the ball-park. I always had a dream of finding a 63 Falcon Rancho and putting a 351 in it.

The biggest thing this car has going for it it is 100% original, un-restored.It has been garage kept since day one.

I have tried talking him into just getting it running and maybe add AC and change the front brakes to disc and add seat belts and drive it as a toy.

He just is not interested in it anymore. Perfect time to sell it.

The thing is, it probably is a $20,000 car.

No, don't do that. If it's as original as you say it should stay that way. Carefully give it a 'sympathetic' restoration/going over and offer it up. Hope for a caretaker that will preserve its originality.

Not really.

I only posted about it in case someone here might have a major lust for an original Falcon. The owner of the car has let it sit in a garage for 25 years because is is easier to just let it sit.

He does have one local friend trying to get him to move off of high center and either say he is going to keep it or sell it to that friend.

I just though it was an interesting car and story.

I'd have it professionally detailed, and bring it to an auction as is.

Barn finds are the current fad. Disc brakes would probably drop its value to a collector.

I'd love to have one and put all of Total-Control's suspension goodies in it, and a ITB'd Coyote motor with 6-speed. It would be a really fun $20000 car, with $40k dumped into it.
