I thought it was great, but your endorsement kind of makes it a little cooler.

That's beautiful Vash. Perfect for a bush kitchen!

btw, i official suck at bushcraft. got a ferro rod as a gift. decided to try to spark a fire..wadded up some jute rope. got the knife out, set it on the ferro..1.2.3..SWIPE!

took an hour to get the bleeding to stop. it sucked. i forgot and left my thumb out there in harms way. my thumbprint is now redone..fresh. still stings a tad when i press on it. idiot. i'm a city guy for sure.

Bic lighter..? check!! maybe get a spare.

As a guy who practically grew up in the woods....it is nice to be able to start a fire in an emergency...but it is just as easy to carry waterproofed matches...and they are much easier to use when freezing your butt off.

I always carry a bic mini and some waterproof matches when I'm hiking. Sure I can do it the old fashioned way... But why?

For me it would be the sense of accomplishment and keeping the skills alive.
But if I had difficulties lighting it the old school way, it would be nice to have the bic as a back up.

Vash, great knife, I love the polished spine!

When I'm in the snow, I carry a road flare to start the emergency fire.
