You could complain your 911 feels cramped inside.

Unfortunately, I ONLY have a 944, yet another first world problem.

I'm 25, live in Canada, and am very fortunate with an amazing family. Every problem I have is first world, except for maybe my awareness of the finite amount of time each of us has.

Thats more like a universal problem though.

I had to repossess my helicopter yesterday, and now it's in the way of getting my biplane out of the hangar.

I have to make a tough decision every morning before work as to which car to drive.....A 2004 Mustang GT convertible, a 1985.5 Porsche 944, a 99 Powerstoke F-250, or a 2007 Jeep Liberty Renegade, or my wife's 2003 BMW 325 CI convertible.......Oh decisions, decisions !

Thank you. The idea was to point out how narcissistic and spoiled most Pelicans are when you compare to the problems and needs of the rest of the world (or even the rest of the USA).

My hope was to remind myself and others how blessed we are and that IMO should spend more energy helping those less fortunate rather than accumulating more stuff or taking another 10,000 selfies with....

It's important stay conscious of how fortunate most of us are. Even those who might not be doing so well, your still probably better off than billions of other humans around the world.

Just being able to go get a glass of filtered water from the fridge and press another button to get some ice is spoiled. Everyday we go to the bathroom and flush water that someone else could drink.

Hopefully at some point in the future, everyone will have access to the fundamentals.

I hate the term "helping those less fortunate" as it makes it sound like folks who have made good choices and have worked very hard their entire life are somehow "lucky". To me, a "first world problem" is that in this land of opportunity, we still have people who manage to not take advantage of it. A real first world problem is that there are so many people that are able to be obese without working...and that there are jobs "that Americans will not do".

While that is a good point, some people have had some awful luck...

A first world problem is being in a land of opportunity and not taking advantage of it while some people from real third world countries would kill (and do) for a chance at that opportunity.

In the 911 this morning, I was momentarily stuck behind a honda with ricer muffler. His exhaust note intruded into my car, violating my aural symphony. Incensed, I passed him, and after which, he could listen to me. I would like to think my actions made the world a slightly better place.

I am getting pretty old and am still waiting for luck to help me...or someone to give me something or help me financially. I suspect that it is just not going to happen. I would suggest that it is not the best way to get to the point where one has some of the problems espoused in this thread (unless one of the many that post here were born relatively well off). Even so, there was likely no luck there either...as their parents or grandparents likely did the sacrifice and hard work to provide the "good fortune" they enjoy.

My "first world" problem is to have a nice old Porsche that I don't have time to drive...because I have a good job (that requires me to be commuting or working most of the time).

...or the fact that I cannot get decent high speed internet or cable at my home yet have a big screen TV and nice computer. I just retuned home from a poor area in rural Korea and had great internet there. Infrastructure where I live is terrible. The US design for cable and DSL oligarpy creates a system where one company gets exclusive rights to operate in an area but can choose to only serve the most dense areas. Some complain about governmental entities like the post office and want to privatize them...but clearly that model does not work for essential services or utilities.

I thought what he stated was his first-world problem. Ie; that he is on a Porsche internet forum and cannot find any problems in his life of which to make jest of.

I'm glad there aren't more people in the world like you. One is enough.

Reality check:
Some people make all the right choices, work harder that you or me, and yet life deals them a bad hand. Yes you had to do some things right (unless you were born a spoiled rich kid that used family clout to get what he wanted) but if nothing else, you still won the lottery by being born in an affluent country with good health. That said, I do cringe at the phrase "helping those less fortunate" because it does conjure up images of bleeding hearth socialism.

First and foremost, be thankful for your opportunities to prosper.
Be compassionate to the ones who got a bad deal.
Help others to be better.

Quit whining about the price of Rib-eye steaks and be glad you aren't the cow.

Oh, BTW,
Remember that the mortality rate in the world is 100%. Everyone dies.
He who dies with the most toys is STILL DEAD.

It makes me think of the other parents I saw in the hospital while my grandson was dying of cancer at the age of 7. I saw the devastation life can hand to otherwise good people. I saw people have to make the choice between keeping their jobs and spending the last few days with their dying children. Humanity isn't about dollars and cents, and if it takes bleeding heart socialism to help people who are less fortunate that we on this board have been, I'm all for it.

example of a first world problem is some puke who has life so easy his biggest concern of the day is to post some whiny screed on a Porsche forum........

Shudaaaap and go do something about it instead of trying to draw attention to your whiny self.

I am doing something by hoping that this thread will encourage people will stop and takes stock of their life and what is important.
In the meantime, you have anger issues. I'm not sure why the sudden outburst. I'm thinking that your narcissism that was offended or maybe you didn't like the fact that I point out your mortality No matter. I don't argue with trolls.

I hope you find peace.

My cappuccino this morning was too hot to drink on my way to work. I had to let it cool down first.

When will my suffering end?
