CD player recommendations for 80's Porsches (amber lighting)

Looking for the best CD player for my 944TS that meets the following criteria:

*Bluetooth as Texas will soon be a hands-free state
*Amber illumination
*Strong amp to run component speakers front/rear: Mosfet 60x4 or such
*Sound tuning/sound fields/ pre-amp sub outs, etc.

Any suggestions? It appears Alpine made the best 60x4 units some 10 years ago but were not of the age of Bluetooth.

Mark

The ones with adjustable illumination will be the ones you want. Sony makes one, IIRC. I dunno about your other requirements (other than BT), but buying an amp with the amplification and tuning requirements might be easier than getting it all in the headunit.

I was seriously thinking of a Sony for my DD Audi. Amber (color adjustable), BT, both line-in headphone jack and USB for input from devices. And cheap. Less than $150. But the amplification is poor.

Don't even screw around. This is what you want. One of the finest sounding HU's on the market - also 210,000 colors to choose from.

Are you looking for the HU to have 60Wx4 (at what load?) or a separate amp that is 60Wx4?

Internal. The Pioneer referenced above might work out great, will run down to the local Custom Sounds & see how it sounds this weekend

Thanks Guys,

Mark

Or

With a bluetooth adapter and amp.

Maybe an adapter like

Digital Media Changer for Becker 2234 2235 2237 2240 CDR 22 CR 22 CDR210 CDR220 | eBay

I haven't tried that adapter myself.

Nice but... I see no buttons... old farts like me prefer radio preset buttons.

I bought a Kenwood that does everything you ask for, Bluetooth, HD radio, adjustable colors, sat radio... but no buttons and only 40 watts.

The Kenwood is for sale, PM me if interested.

No matter what HU you will probably want to add a external power amp (ask me how I know)... anything rated 60 watts peak is maybe getting 20 watts RMS.

YMMV

Oh and FYI you can go to crutchfeild or Amazon auto and put in your car and it will tell you if the radio fits or not.

Also, the Kenwood had flawless Bluetooth... the Alpine I replaced it with has flaky Bluetooth... not sure I would trust an adapter.

I have a Pioneer DEH-P7400HD that rocks pretty good. It's got Bluetooth, a rainbow of colors, lots of power, but no buttons, which can confuse an old fart like me. It does have remote control, so at least I don't have search for controls early in the morning on my way to work in the dark.

The other downside with anything that has Bluetooth is that it looks waaay out of place in any car manufactured before 2000.
