Being a fly on the wall in muscle car land. Loving it.

I bought a cheap 2002 Moostang GT a few months ago. Relatively easy to work on, parts are cheap, lots of upgrade potential.

Well that means I'm spending a lot of time in the modular Ford forums. LOL! Holy hell. While there are certainly some very skilled builders over there, there are also some kids who's chutzpa is considerably greater than their mechanical skills. I feel bad for some of this things that happen, but I can't help but laugh.

Example, "It won't run, and I can't turn the crank with a pry bar, even with the plugs out. Also, the oil is all glittery. What do you think? Bad battery, starter motor?"

Sorry kid, I've got some bad news....

It is all about the price of admission. I owned a WRX for a while and those forums were horrid......

I changed the motor and transmission mount on my 1992 Fox body Mustang this weekend and there was some good info out there that I benefit from prior to swapping them out.

Then again, I own a Pontiac- there are straight up White Supremacists in their forums- no one bats an eye. It's surreal.

You think PARF is rough...It's nothing compared to PY Clubhouse.

Rennlist had its share of complete tools as well.

Need I remind everyone of the watch and wheels thread?

How do you find an SN95 Mustang in the dark? Follow the smell of menthol cigarettes.

(I kid, I kid...)

There is an amazing amount of info out there. I picked up the Haynes manual for my car when I got it, but I've barely touched it. Online write ups are much better.

I agree, there is some good info.

I liked my SN95 Mustang, if i could find a clean '95 Cobra R it would be hard not to purchase it. I'm also still contemplating a 2000 Cobra R.

That is if I don't decide to get another 911 Turbo.

I have to say, I'm really enjoying my car. Not the fastest car out there, but man does it make a nice sound. Mine has an H pipe and MAC mufflers. I'm about to put some shorty headers on it. Not looking forward to dropping the K member to get in there!

5 speed and a V-8, well worth the price of admission.

My Mustang is a bit older. The engine is gnarly.....I bought a cam that is a bit much for the streeet......it sounds great while standing behind the car, but from the cockpit it sounds as if the hounds of hell are loose up front. .....

I have a '66 as well as my '92. The 66 is a very worked over straight six with three webers on it.... What are the sizes if your wheels JP? I have 16x9 on the back of mine and I need to roll the lips of the quarters...

15 X 7 with 225 X 50s all around.

8s were just a touch too wide. I wanted to use those particlar Crager wheels.

E39 forum is no den of reason, either. And a good percentage of new owners, being younger and too cool for school, think that the first money they spend on their car should go to angel eyes if it's an early model, lowered suspension, and an aftermarket M5 front bumper.

But thankfully, there are wiser posters too... who will tell these goobers they need to make sure the cooling system is in good shape, etc.
