New Porsche clothing store...

One of our local malls (Oak Brook, Illinois) opened a Porsche Accessory store. I wandered in, took a quick peek...

Prices were rather stunning....

Porsche leather jacket, $7000...

Porsche wallet, $1000...

I understand luxury pricing. I have even succumbed and bought a couple rolexes in the past. But I just can't phathom the demographic that buys $7000 leather jackets...

Fall Winter 2014 | - Porsche Design USA

I can't find the leather goods on their website... but they are in the store.
Alright. 'fess up. Who here bought a $4000-7000 letaher jacket?

Bo

The same type of folks that buy $20,000 purses.

Not anyone I know.

They have one on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. I heard the salesman explaining to a customer that these shoes are based on the same suspension system as a 'real Porsche" At $620, they were a real bargain.

We have a B&O store in Portland. I've always liked their stuff. I pop in from time to time and see all the uber-expensive tech. I view it somewhat like art. I think that he same can be said for Porsche Design stuff.

Was in the Detroit airport with my daughter last weekend. Stopped in a PD store and looked around. Tried on a pair of PD cheaters. Excellent optics, nice design and uber-comfy. My daughter insisted they were the only reading glasses that actually looked good on my melon. Way over priced at $260, but brought them home. Used daily ever since.

Don't mind parting with $$ if quality is there...but $7k for a jacket ain't happenin'!

Porsche stuff is usually good quality. I was aware of the PD stuff, but had no idea that they had brick and mortar stores until I was in San Fran earlier this year. I now know that they have one at the Galleria here in Houston too. Anyway, when I stopped by the one in San Fran this summer, I ended up bringing home the cheapest set of sunglasses that they had. They were arou d the price of Choco's cheaters, but maybe a tiny bit less. I would never have paid that much for sun glasses, but the missus wanted me to get them.

I have to say, they are the most comfortable sun glasses I've ever had. They're also attractive and seem to work as well or better than any sunglasses I've even had. I think they were 5x the price of the next closest sunglasses I'd ever bought and I felt pretty decadent when I got those. I do love them though. I can wear them for a long time and the bridge of my nose never feels like its getting pinched or has a bunch of weight resting on it.

Funny thing is that a few months later I bought a Porsche, and the glasses match the color scheme of the car.

While spending at the Porsche store, pull out you're vintage PD leather checkbook!

I purchased it new in the 1980's at a PCNA dealership. If anyone is interested, contact me by PM. Can e more pics if needed. Very nice item

I was in that store just to see how other half lives. Guy walks in directs staff to give him two watches without a blink of eye.

Went down street to the "La Pearla" lingerie store. Pair of panties, skimmmmpy.... $450. Told my GF I bought her a pair and she said I'd lost my frigging mind. I told the clerk she would say that... and she would have been right. Yet ... they do quite well.
