Do you watch 4K TV?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

wondering how many people have a 4K tv, and your source material?

does up-conversion from a DVD or Blu Ray really work well in the real world?

the new 75-80 inch curved TV's seem almost a gimmick unless you're in the sweet spot............note no manufacturer is really touting 3D anymore.

4K, I'm hoping for black Friday and Christmas sales............

I got a 4k monitor for my computer for photography editing and Iracing, not ready for the 65" tv- just no content out there yet-
up scaling works and because 4k has higher resolution and color depth it does look better-
but there is no content
you tube has some....
but there is no content-

I saw the 4k curved TV at BestBuy 6 months ago. I was impress.
However, as lane stated not much content.
I recently saw them available at costco, of course at a better price point.
I am going wait a while for the price drop and content issue.

My 4K Panasonic AX800 is being used as a PC monitor.
I had originally purchased the new Vizio P-series, but I found it to be extremely crippled in it's color reproduction and refresh rate.

I have a 4K Samsung 65" about 3 months old. Netflix streams in 4K now if you have a fast enough internet connection. I bought a Samsung Bluray player that upscales to 4K. Love it.

Don't understand the benefit to "curved" screen. The benefit is never explained in the ads. Seems like pure gimmick. Is there some reason it is truly a better viewing experience?

The advantage is it makes up for loss of picture quality when viewing the TV from an angle. I have a long and narrow room with the TV at the end so I chose a flat TV but if my room were shallow and wide then the curve would be a good idea.

I would think that a curved screen would be worse from an angle because the near side of the screen would be curved inward creating an even tighter viewing angle.

I had assumed Samsung rushed to be the first to market once curved glass became available, but have yet to hear any explanation of why it is significantly better.

I've seen both flat and curved side by side...still don't get it.

We bought a 47-inch Sony Bravia this past February (I used the coming Super Bowl as an excuse.) It seemed to me at the time that 4K was a reasonable alternative only with very large screen sizes. Otherwise I could not see enough difference to justify the price. But that's just me.

Oh, and about 3D: This Sony we have has that. We just never, ever, use it. I suppose that if you watched more movies than we do, especially those filmed in 3D, it might be a boon. But for F1 and Masterpiece Theatre, a couple of the staples in this house, not so much.

So, What is "fast enough", internet?

what's your streaming speedtest .net speeds?

and do you experience stutter?
