I just "upgraded" my tower to Yosemite. I needed it to run a new program (I guess it dates you when you still call "apps" programs) that required Yosemite. I'm not fond of the new look. Other than that it seems OK. I think I'm going to like how it interacts with my phone and iPad.

Handoff requires Bluetooth 4.

Have in my list to add a BT 4 USB dongle to see if it'll work just have not been that motivated yet.

My MacBook is just a bit too early to support it but I'm not disappointed. In my experience Bluetooth generally sucks (not just on Apple devices). It works fine between my iPhone and hands-free in the car but for everything else supposedly "Bluetooth comparable" it seems to have all the reliability of a 1978 Oldsmobile.

Hard to say what they would charge.

You'll likely pay a premium for their RAM and hard drive plus labor.

You've got the faster drive but it's only 500 MB, how full is it?

They get fussy as you approach 90%+ capacity.

You can put 8 GB in there which will help.

Downloaded memory clean, and its hovering at right about 25% of memory available.

My HD is very full. I purge stuff every few months, but I still think a bump to 1tb would prolong the life of this computer. What would you recommend?
