Help With Sport Wagon Purchase Decision

Just hit 185,000 miles in my 04 Cayenne S. The seat is so broken down it's hurting my back and causing sciatica...and she's starting to idle rough and have nagging issues. After 10 years of happy ownership, I'm giving her to Make-A-Wish this week.

I've got it narrowed down to two choices, but the negative Audi threads have me concerned. I want a sport wagon. They have better gas mileage than SUV's, still hold long rifles and big dogs in the back, and are low enough where I wont tear another F#@#!&G paddleboard of the roof rack when I forget it's up there pulling into the garage!

Here they are...2014 BMW 328i Sportwagon vs. 2014 Audi Allroad (The Volvo V60 was eliminated due to the local dealership shutting down).

Certified Used 2014 Audi allroad For Sale Newport Beach CA | WA1UFAFL4EA029567

First off, good on you for donating the Pepperwagon.

Second, I would go with the BMW.

Wait, didn't you just buy a new Volvo XC about a month ago?? The dealer damaged the car, etc.?

Between those two, the Audi. Maybe silly, but I think that HID lighting is a must-have in any vehicle I'm driving. Looks like the BMW has the standard headlights where are so-so. Either way, CPO ft..

Also fwiw, not sure a current 3-series is any better reliability than a current Audi...

YES! We ended up with an XC60 R-Design Polestar and we LOVE it! That's my wife's car, and she's tired of my driving it. My Cayenne S is a base model and I'm jealous of her Bluetooth, Google Nav, streaming Pandora, reactive cruise control, etc, etc, etc...and I'm mostly sick of a back ache and crashing paddleboards into the garage.

Another Audi vote. Better quality interior, similar driving experience. BMW is slipping, Audi is on the way up.

If you're going to be in the snow or adverse traction conditions, go with the Allroad (just be sure you know about all the fixes available for the air suspension).

I'd vote for the Audi as well because it's more of a hybrid-type rig, like a Subie Outback or similar. Little more ground clearance, excellent AWD, etc.

I agree about Audi quality being on the rebound, according to rankings.

Audi -
But my goodness that front looks like a morphed Buick with snowplow blade.

Buy this one!!!
Used 2015 Volvo V60 T5 Drive-E Platinum | Used Cars For Sale in Tempe, AZ | Phoenix, YV140MED8F1197534

This is an awesome wagon. Their pictures are terrible and don't begin to do it justice. This was the area Volvo reps personal car. Has just 2500 miles and heavily options. Seats are just too amazing for words. How far away is the nearest Volvo dealer?

I want this:

2014 Mazda6 wagon is much more than a pretty face - NY Daily News

Sucks that we can't buy this in the US. Give me this with a manual and I will be very satisfied. I just can't spend $50K on the Volvo/BMW/Audi wagons.

The new ones don't have air suspension.

Why are you looking for an AWD in Ventura? I would vote for a 328i (or better yet, 335i) that's not Xdrive.
