DFW Folks - Good Body Shops?

My sister in law in Rowlett wants to buy her husband a pro detail for Christmas. He has an A4 that he loves, it needs a really good compound, polish, and wax to repair years of baking in the Texas sun. He's better with the mechanical stuff than detailing. Any recommendations for a good body shop, preferably in the NE metro area?

I don't have a recommendation for you Matt, but I would look for a detail shop, not a body shop.

The reason I say this is because most detailers at a body shop are paid hourly and could care less about a professional quality job. A good body shop probably wouldn't want to waste their time with just a compound/polish either.

I'd look for someone that does jobs for a wholesaler and/or jobs on the side. The best have grown their business to brick and mortar operations.

Gas Monkey Garage, or if you're on a budget, the newly established Mis-Fit garage HAHA.

Matt, I looked at some mobile detailers in the area but most seem focused on wash/wax vs full on paint restoration. I have a local body shop that does my really challenging exterior work, like heavy swirls on a black car. But that's an actual paint/body guy doing the work vs their quick detail guy.

I had someone come through and do a detail on my Honda - Zero H2O or something like that. It took them 2 hours, cost me $100 and it was showroom clean in and out. I will try to look for the info.

Detailwerx or Stuarts body shop on Plano Rd. Stuarts is one of the best body shops I've dealt with. Always a lot full of high end cars.

I'm tempted to release the name/phone number for my brother, who has my polisher, polishes, waxes, and assorted equip. The fuchstick commandered my stuff, never to be re-obtained.

He has kids and q-tips. Maybe I should?

My ex wife have an account there - drove by brail. She had a Lexus with pearl gray paint that they matched perfectly. Replace a quarter where I could not tell. When Dart bus rear ended me, they replaced the bed sides and matched the red on my 10 YO ef won fitty. Not even a little cheap, but do great work.
