California's "Storm of the Century" how is everyone holding up?
I know it is not really raining hard like it does along the Gulf Coast, but it is a lot for around here. I hope all are well and don't flooded or land slided, land slid? actually I don't think either one of those is a real term, but you get the idea. Hopefully there are adequate shrubs and grass around Hugh's place so those pretty hills around his house don't end up in his swimming pool or something.
I guess it is really hitting the whole West coast, but you guys in Oregon and Washington are used to it. It kind of freaks people out in Cali. Stay safe, don't drive into standing water.

Light rain here, but what the heck, it just runs off into the ocean and muddies up the surf. I felt like I was in Seattle for the last couple days, just light rain and dark.

I live about 2 miles from Hugh. We got a good drenching but no major damage that I've heard of. The folks in Glendora were most at risk with burned hillsides from the Colby fire.

Umm, Im picking Hugh up in the 911 in two hours time and taking him out for a "Big Bay Breakfast" at Maranui Cafe. I'll wait until he's had his second coffee before I mention the swimming pool is probably full of mud and snakes.
Good luck guys. |

I was at the waiting at the light @ the corner of Auburn & Garfield yesterday, and could see the water coming up out of the storm drain. During the time I was at the light, the water level rose up to, and overtaking the pedestrian island by a few inches just in the time I was sitting there.

Unfortunately, a rather warm system, so the snow level is like 7000 ft. Over four and a half inches of rain in SF in the last week, about three and a half in Sacramento, two inches down in LA. Even if we get snow on the hill, I bet it melts by Christmas. Dry now here, supposed to rain hard tonight and tomorrow I guess.
Why is it the dog will go for a walk in the rain, but if I open the back door, she looks out, looks at me like I am kind of slow, then goes and lays on the couch?

Hi

Here's my casualty of the rain.
The Targa sprung a leak causing a very damp interior. The DME didn't like it and caused a no start condition for me. ![]()

Two days of soft rain at 3,500' elevation in eastern S.D. County. We were told we could expect up to 4 inches, but my rain gauge only had one inch in it. It would be nice to have a series of these.

San Jose is holding up just fine except no one around here seems to know how to drive in the wet. Two hours and forty five minutes total commute time going to and from work. 12.5 miles each way!

The water level in our pool rose 2". So glad to be able to turn off our garden sprinklers for the next week or so. We have a large property and the water bill is killing us.

I've had 4 1/2" at my house since Saturday, and over 11" fell in the hills above town. Outside of some local flooding, no major problems in this area (70mi south of SF).
