I do most of my Christmas shopping online, and I save beaucoup bucks. Saves the gas cost, time, and eliminates the hassle of crowded stores.

Many places will have a customer appreciation, or "residents of" day. Naples Zoo has a free day each month for residents on Collier county FL. Many state parks also have a free day.

Just last month Florida had a free salt water fishing day. One of four free days per year requiring no fishing license.

Didn't CA have a gun amnesty day, I think it was a free day to turn in your weapons.

From mid- May to mid-October each year in Annapolis Royal Nova Scotia, you can visit North America's Tidal Power Plant free of charge. The Interpretive Centre is open daily from 10 AM to 6 PM and a Heritage Interpreter (either Henry or I) will explain the workings of the plant and it's fit into the local environment and the current forays into tidal power.
Conditions permitting, you may have the opportunity to go underground into the plant itself, again free of charge.
This opportunity is provided through Nova Scotia Power.
