Bloody awesome! Not just an amazing feat they're trying to achieve, but really really funny too!
I'm hooked! |
Most wonderful- watched them all and can't wait for more. Thank you!!
|
Really enjoying this project!!!! Thank you for posting it!!!
|
Thanks for posting. Quite technical and funny. Nik is an impressive automotive engeneer and fairly good actor, I see this going main stream and becoming an excellent series in the Discovery Channel or such. This Binky project is a Monster!

Wow! Episode 8 was just posted on 12/24/14. Will be cool to watch this project as he finishes it up. Very cool. Was up until 1am last night watching these!!
|
...must see the finished car...need more episodes!!!!!
|
Awesome! I like the jig and grinder tree he made! I have never seen a jig like that with the ability to adjust as well. Those must be available for a pretty penny...no wonder he built his?
|
Is that not Jim Clarks homeland?
Lots a crazy talented people over there.. I truly think he is wasting his talent...better spent on a gt40 or rockets |
Great fab skills considering he is using just grinders and a homemade brake most of the time! Seems it would be stronger if he welded the whole seam instead of using a spot welder and using plug welds. But if he is not going to race it, all should be fine. I picked up a few ideas on some homemade tools I will be making soon!

THis is clearly not their first rodeo.
Color me impressed. |
Watched all 8 episodes, great stuff. I do question what they are going to do about the width/track difference in the ST4 drive-train. When test fitted it looked way too wide to compensate with just flares and if the're going to cut, wouldn't the suspension geometry (which they painstakingly preserved) go out the window? Given their obvious ability I have to assume I'm the one missing something...very cool stuff.

This is really good, I can't wait for episode 9 and 10, 11,.... There are so many issues they will encounter, for now I wonder how they will prevent the A panels from knocking the doors when they flip open the entire front:confused:.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat6.gif

Wow, so I finally got through all of the available episodes. After watching their fabrication and invention, I feel quite a bit less smart than I did before.
I suspect the car is going to be quite impressive when they are done. |
I'm on to EP3. Great find, thanks for sharing. As he was cutting up that shell and showing all the rust points I couldn't help but think in 914 club we cut up and parted-out shells with less rust.
|
I watched all 8 episodes over the weekend and am eagerly awaiting #9. I'm in awe of Nik's control with an angle grinder--99% of what he has been doing with that humble tool I would've needed a bandsaw to accomplish.
