Bloody awesome! Not just an amazing feat they're trying to achieve, but really really funny too!

I'm hooked!

cairns 12-27-2014 05:52 AM

Most wonderful- watched them all and can't wait for more. Thank you!!

sand_man 12-27-2014 11:29 AM

Really enjoying this project!!!! Thank you for posting it!!!

Jose_JGC 12-27-2014 12:31 PM

Thanks for posting. Quite technical and funny. Nik is an impressive automotive engeneer and fairly good actor, I see this going main stream and becoming an excellent series in the Discovery Channel or such. This Binky project is a Monster!

Nickshu 12-27-2014 01:52 PM

Wow! Episode 8 was just posted on 12/24/14. Will be cool to watch this project as he finishes it up. Very cool. Was up until 1am last night watching these!!

sand_man 12-27-2014 02:29 PM

...must see the finished car...need more episodes!!!!!

M.D. Holloway 12-27-2014 10:06 PM

Awesome! I like the jig and grinder tree he made! I have never seen a jig like that with the ability to adjust as well. Those must be available for a pretty penny...no wonder he built his?

afterburn 549 12-28-2014 03:56 AM

Is that not Jim Clarks homeland?
Lots a crazy talented people over there..
I truly think he is wasting his talent...better spent on a gt40 or rockets

vonsmog 12-28-2014 05:30 AM

Great fab skills considering he is using just grinders and a homemade brake most of the time! Seems it would be stronger if he welded the whole seam instead of using a spot welder and using plug welds. But if he is not going to race it, all should be fine. I picked up a few ideas on some homemade tools I will be making soon!

masraum 12-28-2014 09:01 AM

THis is clearly not their first rodeo.

Color me impressed.

lendaddy 12-28-2014 09:07 AM

Watched all 8 episodes, great stuff. I do question what they are going to do about the width/track difference in the ST4 drive-train. When test fitted it looked way too wide to compensate with just flares and if the're going to cut, wouldn't the suspension geometry (which they painstakingly preserved) go out the window? Given their obvious ability I have to assume I'm the one missing something...very cool stuff.

This is really good, I can't wait for episode 9 and 10, 11,.... There are so many issues they will encounter, for now I wonder how they will prevent the A panels from knocking the doors when they flip open the entire front:confused:.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat6.gif

The flipfront hinges below the bottom of the A-panels. That way the paint stays on. At least that's what they said in the video:D

DeRRis, thank you for the link! Subscribed.

Thanks DeRRis, it had escaped me, but I now understand. The flipfront hinges are lower than the bottom of the A-panels so the A-panels move away from the door.

Wow, so I finally got through all of the available episodes. After watching their fabrication and invention, I feel quite a bit less smart than I did before.

I suspect the car is going to be quite impressive when they are done.

Brando 01-05-2015 10:05 AM

I'm on to EP3. Great find, thanks for sharing. As he was cutting up that shell and showing all the rust points I couldn't help but think in 914 club we cut up and parted-out shells with less rust.

BlueSkyJaunte 01-05-2015 10:13 AM

I watched all 8 episodes over the weekend and am eagerly awaiting #9. I'm in awe of Nik's control with an angle grinder--99% of what he has been doing with that humble tool I would've needed a bandsaw to accomplish.

Time for tea!

Anyone know when we can expect to see Episode 9?

Statement on Episode 9 of Project Binky | Bad Obsession Motorsport

Bad Obsession Motorsport regrets to inform that due to artistic differences along with an argument over who’s turn it is to put the kettle on, episode 9 of Project Binky has been delayed indefinitely.

Or until Friday 17th April 2015 at 8.00pm, which ever comes sooner!

sand_man 04-04-2015 02:49 PM

Thank you for the update! I have been checking from time to time, as I thoroughly enjoy watching this project unfold!

masraum 04-04-2015 04:13 PM

Awesome, can't wait!

oldE 04-04-2015 04:19 PM

Let's see... all they have to do is design a new intake manifold, turbo mounting and intercooler plumbing and make it all fit under the Mini's bonnet. Also it would be interesting to see where they're going to shoe horn a fuel tank into this beast.

Madmen. I'm impressed by this level of "Bollocks! Why not?" :D

Looking forward to seeing the next installment.

These guys are awesomely crazy!!!! Love it!

ckelly78z 04-20-2015 09:34 AM

I watched 5 out of 8 episodes over the weekend and loved the dry humor, witty exchanges., and of course the stupidly difficult mathmatical calculations that he made look like child's play by designing some of those jigs, multiple angle brackets, and patch panels with ease. Looking forward to the next 3 episodes and now the ninth episode available as of Friday.

red911sc 04-30-2015 04:30 PM

Awesome stuff!

Southbay356 05-02-2015 06:27 AM

porsche4life 08-01-2015 01:16 AM
