Denis,

I think this is the one you were looking for.

Was the section of road (above) with a light dusting of snow the new piece of Trans Canada around Bonshaw?

Gotta love those late fall drives.

Best
Les

Thank you for this thread. I patched a roof for a sick friend last week, but I got to take a drive here vicariously.

Thanks OLdE, that must be her married name. Forgot about that. Are you ready for this storm? My wife is flying in to HFX tomorrow from NFLD. No matter what the
weather appears to be in HFX, getting through Cobequit pass is a bi*ch. As you probably know. Hope she does OK.

Thanks guys. I had a blast touring around PEI these past few days. Put on over 700
miles (a lot for PEI). The roads were the best they've been all year. And since my wife was away at her sister's in St.John's NFLD I enjoyed passing the time, most in the rat, but some miles in the 993 as well.

"The Pass", as everyone calls it has got to be one of the best designs put in the wrong place I can think of. The road was designed (I suspect) to work well in an area with dry snow which would just blow off. Funny how the snow off Minas Basin (or Northumberland Straight, for that matter) just sticks when it lands.
Since I'm from between Amherst and Parrsboro and still have family up that way, I get to travel the Pass from time to time, but avoid it when the weather turns to crap.
Hope the Missus gets through OK. With the warming conditions it should be an interesting drive.

Keep the home fires burning!

Things must be hard when a fellow has to drive an old car all the way to C'town just to get a cuppa coffee!

Tough times! S"Side is stuck with Tim's (I hate it) Starbucks is too strong and too expensive. That's our choices. That Ch'town coffee shop café is the best place in the
the city for food and coffee. Leonhards on University Ave if you're ever over.

I was just doing the math and realized I haven't been on the Island since Joe Martin's funeral in 2007.
He and his wife (one of my wife's best friends) lived just the other side of C'town in Stratford. We used to be over every summer. She was from Nova Scotia and has since re-married and moved back to the 'mainland'.
Time has a way of going by on you.
Thanks for the pics of your cruises. More than a few of those shots look very familiar.
