That is a brave man!

Targa Me 12-27-2014 06:13 AM

Brave? I'm thinking more like stupid.
He's married (i assume), with a young child; if he kills himself or worse, becomes paralyzed its his family that suffers.

osidak 12-27-2014 06:23 AM

x2 to the post above

That said he should have been reving the hell out of that engine to try and bring the nose up some

cashflyer 12-27-2014 06:54 AM

That "Outdoor Television" link wouldn't play for sh8t on my connection.
Here is a better video (IMO), with interview.

I fully agree with the other posters. People with family should never take any risk.

masraum 12-27-2014 07:17 AM

At the very least, it looks like he needed arm restraints/tethers.

But, agreed, with the lady and little one, what he really needs is something a bit less potentially fatal for a hobby.

onewhippedpuppy 12-27-2014 07:21 AM

That's a serious engineering fail. Unless the driver hit the wrong speed they obviously messed up the jump angle or weight distribution of the car. Pretty sure Hugh wouldn't approve.;)

patz 12-27-2014 07:27 AM

Flew like a tumbling brick. WILL NOT buff out.

mreid 12-27-2014 08:26 AM

So does that count? If you're going to be foolish, at least be a successful fool.

URY914 12-27-2014 09:40 AM

If only Evel Kinivel (sp) would have had a GoPro back in the 70's.

HHI944 12-27-2014 10:05 AM

Some people say they want to arrive at their grave with a pretty body ...others wish to arrive completely worn out.......then there are those who just want the ME to say 'WTF am I supposed to do with this friggin mess'

M.D. Holloway 12-27-2014 11:07 AM

Not a most favored way to end it but he did get out with minor injuries.

Baz 12-27-2014 02:26 PM

Unless you're on 2 wheels...you're not doing it right.....

Shaun @ Tru6 12-27-2014 02:39 PM

Didn't see a HANS device, I'm going with moron.

Mark Henry 12-27-2014 04:55 PM

Pffffttt...every day event in Canada...except here the last words before the jump is "Hold my beer and watch this!"

BING, BING, BING. An evening meal of poultry for you sir. Non HANS and an open-face helmet. Go spend $25 and get a neck roll at least.
Effin' stoopid.

Not my gig. We've had a few failures, but nothing like that. Most of the time they under perform, not over perform.

cashflyer 12-27-2014 06:06 PM

 You can pretty clearly see the Hans device in the video, as he is unbuckling and climbing out of the car.

Yeah, think you are correct. But damn, his necks SNAPS on the first impact. Still dumb for an open face helmet though.

motion 12-27-2014 07:17 PM

I just cannot wrap my mind around how upside down this went. They did a lot of practice jumps at close to this distance, but this one was not even close to happening. He went nose first into the ramp. Something strange had to have happened. I wonder what the explanation is.
