bought a long spoon today

After listening to my wife and mother in law banter for the last three days and what seems like 24 hour Christmas music I had to get out of the house today ! Time to do something manly. Weather has been horrible ( rain ) so not P car weather so how about taking in a gun show ? It doesn't hurt that it is held less than a 1/2 mile from my house I take that as a good sign . To be honest the " gun " show was 60 % knives with 15 % tasers the balance was guns and gun related items. I went with X amount of cash in my pocket and was not going to go over budget. My man goal was maybe pick up some ammo and possibly look for a shotgun. In the future might try some skeet so that was the thought process. Seems like most folks are looking to purchase AK type guns because that was the majority of long guns. There were some traditional bolt action rifles and some shotguns but way over my budget. Then I came across what ultimately went home with me a Winchester Model 1400 MK II. She's a used 12 ga. semi-auto with ribbed barrel and screw in chokes. Only came with a modified but they are readily available. She feels good in the hand and was lighter than I thought it would be. Very nice checkering with no damage. There are a few tiny imperfections in the stock near the butt plate just enough to give it character . The blueing on the barrel is in good shape with no obvious flaws. The older gentleman that was selling it said his eyesight was on the way out so he was starting to get rid of some guns. Told me he just had it out for skeet shooting a few weeks ago and got 23 out of 25 good enough for me. I went into this sale blind in regards to worth/prices but I gave $300.00 which I thought was very fair. I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow.
