Anybody hear about fights at shopping malls all over the country on 12/26?

I heard nothing at all about this until I listened to the radio this morning. Apparently, on the day after Christmas, groups of youths were fighting at shopping malls all over the country. In some cases, very large groups that ended up attacking the police officers that came to break up the fights.
This happened in the town where I live. A large number of fights broke out, they ended up closing an hour and a half early. Was not in the paper at all, as near as I can tell, and one local TV station reported on it.

I poked around and it looks like at least a dozen different malls had incidents in this time frame across the country. Anybody else hear about this stuff?

I try to stay away from malls from Thanksgiving until January 10th or so.

Yes, this has been a disturbing trend since the advent of two sexes. Boys getting in fights has been going on forever. Sometimes society figures out ways to channel that aggression, and it is successful until young men start fighting agains the system that channels it. Why do you think we have sports?

The parenting comment is spot on.

The parents of those involved in illegal fighting should be at a minimum fined - and maybe in some cases made to serve community service (along with their kid!) as well.

I also think we do not have enough positive role models for kids.

Is it any wonder why we are seeing civil disturbances all around the nation and the world? If you recall a few years back I said that the policies of various governments and Central Banks in response to economic conditions was causing "DISLOCATIONS" SOCIALLY, POLITICALLY AND ECONOMICALLY throughout the world.

Lack of parenting and role models are definitely contributors. Also nobody is ever held accountable. The policed break up the fights and shoo everybody away. The parents are never informed and businesses are stuck the cost of theft, breakage, and destruction. When the participants are hauled off to jail, held accountable for destruction, and parents are really held accountable for conduct and have to pay for the destructive actions of their minor children, nothing will change.

The question becomes if this is so why hasn't this sort of behavior been more prevalent in the past? This lack of parenting has been going on for decades, and is nothing new. So what is the new factor that is acting as an accelerator or catalyst for these sorts of events? The answer is that the fabric of society is being torn and that is causing instability (fragmentation and chaos).

It is the fulfilment of the HOPE and CHANGE that we have been promised.. it could be that it has not been delivered because America is at heart a racist nation where the power elites wants to keep minorities subservient and poor. So the only way forward for minorities to obtain what is due them is to take them by force. In other words, "GD America, and kill one of us and we will kill two of you and then we will see if you want to come to the table and talk about it..."
