Daytona Roar Before the 24 pics

I went to the Roar yesterday for the first time. Weather was clear, crazy windy and in the high 60's. It was better than the 24 as far as I'm concerned. I saw all the same cars and didn't have to spend the night or fight the crowds. The night practice started at 6:45 so I was able to shoot plenty of night action. A $15/day ticket allows access to the garages and the track. Can't beat that.

It was good to see these colors once again on this track....

Nope, they should allow the LeMans hybrid cars to run only at Daytona. The place would be packed.

Really tried to like this series, really hoped Tudor would be the salvation for us road race fans, but it's not. Tube framed ugly DP cars, while better than previous years, are still ugly and slow. GT cars choked down to be slower than the DP cars, pathetic. Lights around the track, not real night racing. isn't a Greenwood Vette still the fastest down the real( no kink) back straight at 240 plus mph? Hope the Ligiers kick butt.
