Android or Apple App

Is there a way to run an Apple or Android App on a PC?

I downloaded the 64 bit Itune App and the app downloaded but I don't know how to run it.

Anything similar for Android?

It is for a thermostat that is meant to be controlled from a table or smart phone. My smart phone (older Blackberry) isn't that smart and my tablet is a Kindle.

Well, yes, there is, at least for Android. There are emulators, and I think if you download the resource kit for Android it comes with a way to run code on your PC.

What thermostat? i had one at my old house that had a PC app that was very good. It gave you more control over the thermostat than the phone app did.

It is a white-Rogers Sensi thermostat. I swear it said "Control your thermostat with your Smart phone, Tablet or PC". It won't do anything without the app.

Does anyone use Bluestacks? I have no idea what the wi-fi interface is so that you can put your wi-fi password into the device externally.

Depending on which one you have that should work on your Kindle.

If you bring that up on the Kindle and there is that little red triangle with an "!" and it says "You don't have any devices" does that mean the app is not compatible?

Do you have a Play Store account with the Kindle registered as a device?

I just signed in with a Google account. It seemed like it checked what device was the source. I guess I am not sure how to do that.

What Kindle is it?

Just a reader or one of the newer Fire devices?

You'll need to install with the Kindle available.

Amazon and google do not play nice so google app store is not on Kindles by default.

You can root and install it or do a side load.

If you don't think you'll be accessing google play store often then just do the side load.

Much simpler.

Late note:
If anyone else needs to do this, on my Kindle the switch to allow external apps was at SETTINGS>DEVICE>ALLOW APPS FROM UNKNOWN SOURCES.

Not sure why mine is not like all the descriptions shown on the web page. It must be old.

Different versions of the software have the various settings in different places.

So did the app give you what you were looking for?

Yes it did

It is a White-Rogers thermostat that I got that has an interactive app to install it and connect it to your router (gift from someone who works there). The app was only available in Android or Apple form and you can't do it from a PC on the local network. After it is installed you can access it from their website through the web. Their tech help told me to borrow a smart phone.

I don't have a smart phone but do have a Kindle fire which is supposed to run a clone of the Android system.

The above link sends you to APK Downloader [Latest] Download Directly | Chrome Extension v3 (Evozi Official) where you download and install the APK file.
