Most grocery stores have a cleaner for them, and a paper towel or old rag. We haven't found that a special rag or applicator is necessary.

I think it's a red scotch brite pad and some Weiman glass cook top cleaner.

WeimanŽ Cook Top Cleaner | Clean Glass Stove | Clean Ceramic Stove.

For tough burnt on stuff I'll hit it with a razor blade.

There's plenty of stuff at the store, don't use AJAX or Comet, get the finer stuff.

I'm really hoping to clean mine with a Gas cooktop soon.

I think we have used Weiman for the cooktop. I think they also make a cleaner for stainless appliances that we have used.

fwiw, there's been stories of glass cook tops suddenly shattering into a billion pieces.
Might be worthwhile doing a search on that model.

I've always used Softscrub. The GE range that was in the house when we bought it was about 13 years old when we went to stainless. The cooktop looked nearly new. It was branded "Ceran."

Our "new" GE glass cooktop that's 2 years old looks terrible. It is NOT branded Ceran. It's very scratched just from normal use, moving pots around, etc. The Softscrub makes it looks as good as it's going to look. Would not buy GE again if I had the chance to go back and do it over again.

Don't use ay kind of abrasive pad! It'll scratch the crap out of it. Razor blade for the big or burned lumps.

I have a GE gas cooktop with a glass surface and continue to use the same stuff (Cerama-bryte) that they recommend (sample was enclosed). It is very nonabrasive. If something/residue is cooked on hard, then I follow the instructions and gently scrape it off with a razorblade and follow with the cleaner. Keeps it looking like new. It is pretty inexpensive as you don't use very much.

+1

You can also get the Cerama-bryte pad and special razor. Wife suggested this and don't clean stovetop when it is hot.

this is what we use and it works really good. i don't use a scotch brite pad, just the weimans and a clean rag. sometimes a little white vinegar soak helps to loosen stuck on food.

Windex for regular cleaning, the Weiman stuff for deeper cleaning needs. Ours looks great, I don't miss cleaning a gas cook top.

The manual will say what to use. I ignore the manual and use window cleaner.

There is also a protective coating you can put on. Supermarkets have these.

The worst glass cooktops are the ones with a trademark of "K".

soapy water or Windex as lube and use a razor blade like Ayles mentioned earlier. Use easy off, let sit for a few and wipe. Thank goodness we no longer have one

I've de-funked a couple of pretty nasty ones with a razor blade for the big stuff, followed by silver polish to take care of the rest.
