Mark,
You did right by posting here...don't apologize. My wife and I are together because of a wonderful, badly in-bred cocker spaniel named Olivia. She was an integral part of Cathy and I getting to know each other, falling in love and then getting married. She died the day after our first child was born. She was only 2 1/2 years old. It's almost as if she left us when she felt her work was done. We now have a 7 year old Golden Retriever that we got from animal rescue 2 years ago. I know we're going to face the same in the next few years...this time with 3 young kids to explain it to. My heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. Gas up the P-car, and go for a long drive through the countryside in Katy's memory. Kind regards, |
Mark
I love dogs and I can imagine how you feel. I've said goodbye to two dogs and have only one left. Love them while you have them and keep them in your heart when they are gone. |
Condolences on the loss of a dear family member. Would that humans show the love that our pets do all the time, then the world would be a better place

Truly sorry for your loss - and I understand as well. We lost Bogey, our beloved Golden, a few days after Sept 11 last year - I was stuck out of the country and never did get to say a proper goodbye. I miss her a lot more than most of my relatives.
The house was so empty for a few weeks, so Chip, our "sorta-kinda Choc Lab" rescue dog has added a new dimension to the family. Time takes the sting away, fortunately the memories fill the hole. |
At least you will have some great pictures to remember her by, not to mention good memories. I remember when my bulldog Barney died back in 1993, still seems like yesterday.
|
Very sorry to hear of her passing. We too lost out dog a couple of years back, it hurt terribly for a while. However at least it's great to live in a time where film and cameras are everywhere and great memories can be preserved.
Regards |
My sincere condolences. It's always tough to lose a good friend.

Sad day...
Sorry for your loss. Whenever you lose someone, either friend or family, there is never a right time. Take care.

Thanks to everyone for your kind words. The tears will continue to fall for a while, but our memories of Katy will last a lifetime. She was one of those very very special pet/friends that touched hearts where ever she went. Carol and I were lucky to have been owned by her for 11 years and Bandy was under Katy's guidance for the last year.
We will miss her. |
Mark - I'm so sorry to hear that! I know how painful it is to lose a pet. They really are a member of the family.
We have lost 3 of our Shar-pei (two females to kidney failure and 1 male to cancer). It really hurts to lose them because you miss them so much and so many things during the day make you think of them. I think we (me and my husband) cried for the next 3 months because you never knew when it would hit you. So just keep extra kleenex in your pocket! Hang in there and think of all the funny things they did that made you smile. Take care, Sarah |
