OT - Sad day
My sweet little dog, Katy passed away this morning after becoming ill in the wee hours. She and her sister Bandy (my kids)loved to "load up" in the back seat of the 911 and go drive around to see the sites and smell the smells. We will miss her more than I can explain. Sorry to post here but I consider you guys my extended family. Thanks for understanding.
Katy is on the left. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/Katy.Bandy.jpg |
Sorry. Most of us have lost a pet at one time. Tough deal.
Mark, I was looking at your signature line the other day and I couldn't of said it better myself. How true, except for today. |
Sorry to read of your loss. Dogs are the most loyal of pets. My family lost our first dog a couple of years back. My children were besides themsleves as she basically died of old age in their arms. We buried her at the back of our lot. I had my son work out his grief (the dog arrived when he was a toddler so he could not ever remeber not having her around) by carving out a grave marker with an appropriate epitaph. After a decent interval there was a new puppy busily keeping the rabbits off our lot. Cheers and condolences, Jim

sorry to hear that:(

Mark, sorry to hear about your loss.. As someone that have had dogs most of his life, I can really feel your pain and sorrow..
|
Sorry to hear of your loss.
A dog is very special member of the family indeed. |
Mark, that is bad news indeed. I hope that you have plenty of find memories of her to help you through a most sad time.
|
I am really sorry. Some times life really sucks
|
Mark - - - our heartfelt condolences - - - it is really tough losing a dog, especially unexpectedly like Katy. Sadly, Bandy must be puzzled about Katy. Perhaps a new companion is in order.
We lost our 15 year old Cav the day before Christmas last year. Toughest thing I had to do was to tell the Vet to put him down because he was in pain from a bad heart. Needless to say, Christmas was a bummer. Fortunately, we have two other dogs which helped us through the pain last year. Chuck |
Marc,
I am VERY sorry to hear of the loss.. I know what you are going thru.. it is VERY tough to deal with .. :( Hang in there.. just remeber to giver all the left over love to the one that is still with you.;) . as she will miss her too. Eric |
You've got my condolences.... I'm afraid I may have to go through the same thing fairly soon.. The Family dog, rick just turned 13 and is getting really arthric. Just know that "All Dogs go to heaven"
|
It isn't "like" losing a member of the family...it IS losing a member of the family. My sympathy. But hey, not just dogs. We have a teenaged cat...it saddens me when I think of what's coming. :(
|
Mark,
Pets are *very* special to our family, so I do understand your sadness right now. |
sorry to hear that Mark. We're looking at that with our Boxer Lucy in a few years, and I still miss my cat Mojo that got run over about a year ago. Paul is right, pets are part of the family.

Bummer man, sorry!:(

My extreme condolences, I lost a dog that was my best friend 2.5 years ago, it was horrible. I got a new puppy soon after, could not imagine living without a dog, but of course he did not "replace" the other one, he is a new unique creature. I wouldn't trade him for a '73 RS, no way. Take care and get better. :)
Current pal, Romeo, he doesn't like the Porsche, though, too small. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/romeoand911.jpg |
My beloved chow was diagnosed with liver cancer. I was just starting a 5 week trial, meaning working 7 days a week, 18 hours a day. We kept her alive for the duration of the trial so that I could have a couple full days with her. I still don't know if it was the right thing to do, but anyway I did it. She was stoic and never complained, even as she got worse and finally stopped eating altogether. When we put her down, three days after the trial ended, it was terrible. For three years after she died, I would occasionally wake up in the middle of the night crying over her. That was 7 years ago. In the following years our other two dogs died - hit by a car, and old age - and we are only now thinking about getting another dog. So there's other people out there who understand how painful it is to lose a favorite dog. All my sympathies.
Interesting note: the next year, just as I was starting a 6 week trial, my father had a heart attack (he is fine now). The following year I quit practicing law. So I never found out if it was going to be third time a charm. |
Mark,
Count my condolences as well. Non-animals will never quite get it, but those of us among your 'Porsche family' do. This may sound a bit existential or something, but an old man told me whan I was a young boy and had lost my dog that 'if you love an animal hard enough, God will grant that animal a soul and he'll be waiting for you...' True or not, I've always thought this belief to be rather comforting, don't you agree? http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/angel.gif Ryan |
Sorry for your loss, Mark. I understand.
|
I hear you...
Mark...I feel your pain.A few years ago we adopted a 6month old sheperd from our local humane society.Even though she was sick most of the time we had her,she gave us 4 great years. She died in our arms at the vet's office.Saddest day of my life.
A few years later we got a mini schnauzer. The joy she brings us is never ending.I call her 9 pounds of attitude. Cheers |
