Painting of 356

I entered a painting I did of a 356. You can see it here: https://www.facebook.com/FastLaneArt/photos/a.392103124249702.1073741829.391895757603772/631276013665744/?type=1&theater

If you're on Facebook please "like" it. The art with the most likes will get printed onto a billboard. How cool is that!

The building in the background is the Reading, PA Pagoda. More info on that here: http://www.readingpagoda.com/

Anyway if you're into hill climbing this is where the Duryea Hillclimb is held: Duryea Hillclimb page

I grew up watching the race every year and it was my first exposure to Porsches.

Because he wanted to hear the car go klopety klop on the half wheels.

If I was on facebook I would "Like" it, but I'm not so I'll just like it.

Nice work. Is that oil on canvas?

Thanks Brian!

Bill, I "cut the wheels off" because it is formatted to fit on a billboard and it fits the composition better that way.

It's oil on a birch panel. I's more stable than canvas and I never cared for the texture of canvas.

thanks Steve, I though it might be for some artistic or conceptual reason over my head.
FWIW, some of our artwork is also in wood. (Masonite).

Bill, I paint on birch and also on masonite. Canvas is for people who don't know any better. I'd love to see your work! I just started painting again after a 30 year break. This earning a living crap really sucks!

Jorian, thanks!
