In NY no one had a good signal, you learned to deal with it. Moved to TX and ATT was rock solid. In 7 years I may have dropped 5 calls. Back in NY you'd drop 5 calls a day. T-Mobile here has been OK so far. Maybe 80% of ATT. A couple of dropped, low bars are common, signal MIA in large indoor places like a Costco. Got kind of spoiled by how robust ATT is in this area.

We are part of the big city (Smell Lay) but waaaay down at (literally) the most southern tip of Lost Angeles on a peninsula behind a hill so radio, TV, and cell signal is difficult. Wife was on Verizon and it was marginal at home so we cut it because of the $$$ and just put everyone on T-Mobile. Technical sprint has the best signal in my town but most people using them don't say good things about them. Once our daughter graduates and get a job (fingers crossed) and gets her own phone plan (toes crossed) I might go to Boost or Cricket... but doing the math they are not a huge savings over the big T.
Feck this... I"M GOING BACK TO MY BAG PHONE! WHO IS WITH ME?

I have sprint and I like them. Almost never drop calls anymore. It's gotten much better lately. I put T-Mobile on my ipad and ended up canceling. It was good where it worked but coverage was poor.

I'm a long time Tmobile user. In the past, I'd say that you paid a bit less and got a bit less, which was fine for my needs at the time.
Today, however, you pay less and get more (assuming the coverage is adequate in your home area). I have 4 lines with unlimited everything with an almost free international calling plan (US to ROW) and I pay around $135/month including taxes. Where it really shines, however, is international. Free text and free data roaming (3g speeds) is awesome and saves a bundle. Also ROW to US calls are a reasonable 20 cents/min. My international service crushes that of my business colleagues on other providers. One more thing, if you're looking at getting a new phone and using Tmobile, consider the Samsung G6 or one of the handful of other phones (LG g4?) that support the new Band 12 (google this). Although it's not currently in all areas (like NYC/East Coast), the typical reviews of the network improvement in terms of coverage and data speeds are impressive. The one thing that really sucks about Tmo, however, is their website. Seriously, it seems like it's broken half the time. I'm no IT guy, but I'm shocked at how unreliable it's been for so long (like years). But otherwise, I've never been more impressed with what Tmo is delivering for the money. Hope that helps. |

Fortunately TM stores are almost as plentiful as starbucks and we can just go to a storefront if we need any service.

A few more thoughts re Tmo service as I've been traveling in Europe this week:
- Intl roaming quality is very good. I love that when you land, you turn on the phone one, and everything works. And you don't sweat crazy data roaming fees, either (it's include/unlimited). Sure, 3G data (the free speed for international) is not LTE speeds, but it's good enough to run email, download attachments and use Google Maps. You're not going to stream videos, but you can do that on wifi at the hotel or Starbucks. - Wifi calling is great, when connection is good. This works in the U.S. too, for example, at home on wifi if you have a weak cellular signal. It's super sweet when international and calling back to the States -- seamless and free on a strong internet connection. Have spent several hours on conference calls without issue. Hope that helps.
