Windows 8 OS question - date/time stamps on files
Throwing this out to the brain trust...
The wife is using Abode Captivate 8 for work and recently lost a days work. She is very good about saving repeatedly throughout the hour, and its as if the program was performing a phantom save. Running a wildcard search did not reveal the file to be saved off in an unexpected folder. Skipping ahead, what I noticed is this: we can open a Captivate file, make a change with the program, save the file...and the time and date stamp does not update when the file is viewed in its folder in Windows 8. To experiment I opened a PowerPoint file, made a change, saved it...and the time stamp updated correctly. On the surface it does not appear to be anything with Win 8. Folder and file permissions are set to read/write. When I right click>Properties on her Captivate file, the new file size after the mod is updated and the "date last modified" time is correct, but this does not update in the folder view (such as the list of files and "details".) After closing and reopening the file, the mod is there so it does appear the file is saving at least, but the time stamp is wrong. Any idea what would be causing this other than possibly a crappy Adobe product? I thought anytime you saved a file on a PC the date-time automatically updated.
