my samsung 55" 240 hz LED has been dead nuts reliable for almost 6 years now. FWIW, seems like used HD tv's are plentiful on craigslist.

Never had a bad vizio. Buy it at SAMs, get the three year warranty, and they'll give you a new one of it gives you any troubled.

I currently have a Samsung 63" Plasma. Has an excellent picture and no problems going on 8 years. It will be replaced with a curved screen Samsung.

You might want to google "curved screen tv" with the word "hype" or "gimmick" behind it.
Nothing new, this was tried in the 80's with front projector CRT TV's, this "gimmick' didn't last long.

well...sometimes that's true and sometimes it's marketing. Big surprise.

We have about 8 samsungs between my parents and I. All are great. I have a 55inch 8000 series with the super thin bezel. I love it.

Like the curved TV you really need to get past the marketing and look at the (big) picture.

Also be careful at the showroom, tricks like cranking the settings is common when the sales is trying to steer you towards their biggest profit makers.
Now old info but still true today.

Our main TV is a 73 inch Mitsubishi that has built in 3-D and also what they call "enhanced 2-D" which is outrageous when you turn it on for something like the Daytona 24 hour race or the Daytona 500! The 3-D is the active type so colors are great and no weirdness with the motion. Picture is 1080P, etc, etc, etc and you can see the picture very clearly even from way out to the side.

Samsung! Also, I would not buy from Walmart/Sams. Many manufacturers make cheaper models for certain stores. I'd pony up and go to Costco and get the added warranty. And you can return it no questions asked. I personally avoid Best Buy, etc cuz I cannot stand the idiots who work there.

Please...don't waste your money on a curved TV. There is absolutely no viewing benefit. A technology that was released because they can...not because they should. Pure gimmick.

I've seen OLED winning a bunch of the comparison tests. Too soon to jump on them yet?

I have an 8000 series Samsung UHD/4K too. The flat one, Not curved. I love it and highly recommend. OLED is nice but at the larger sizes is very spendy.

We just bought a 65" LG from Best Buy last week. On sale for $799. Awesome picture, etc., for the price.

We have a few Sharp Aquos LEDs. 65" on down. I'm extremely happy with them.

I purchased both the Sony 70in and Vizio m70 and had them side by side in the living room hook to directv

The Vizio M was hands down the better picture and the 240 frame rate is just awesome awesome.

Sony got returned

3 days ago just got the 70" P-Series Vizio, 4K set. Stunning.

$500 off at Coscto right now, only $2K plus tax. a steal for the performance of it.

it was $2500 before Christmas, on and off, Costco sells out of the fast when they get them.

http://www.costco.com/Vizio-70%22-Class-(69.50%22-Diag.)-4K-Smart-LED-Ultra-HDTV-P702ui-B3.product.100131120.html

to match it in the Samsung line (which is my baseline like a 7150 or 8000 series) or a Sony, you have to almost double that price = $3500-4K

I don't like the curved sets, they have a glossy finish and have more reflections, the P-Series in Vizio has a nice satin matte finish.

the 4K upconversion from ABC/NBC/ESPN, or streaming native 4K off you-tube is amazing.
