Baz--thanks for the spreader tip! I will check the utensil drawer for ours.

My wife likes PB on apple slices. There is a pic in our files somewhere with me eating PB from the jar. My wife took it shortly after we were dating and I got "caught". She thought it was(is) the weirdest habit. I blamed the cat that had been hanging around the apt. complex.

She still married me.

Good story Wayne! Good luck with the spreader it's like having that nice little custom feeler gauge for the 911 valve adjustment...just right!

now go try almond butter...

The kind of PB that's in the NABS.

Lance's are the best nowadays. Haven't seen real Nabisco Nabs in forever. Not sure if they even make them anymore.
Wash them down with Mtn. Dew. A combo made in heaven.
Orange soda will do in a pinch...

I've got some groceries.
Some peanut butter.
Should last a couple of days...

The organic stuff spread on a stalk of celery.

More, Sir.

Baz 02-01-2015 06:35 AM

Yeah Paul....I do the celery procedure on a regular basis. I just stick the stalk right into the jar...lol.

I found some Almond Butter in my pantry last night plus a jar of some organic blend. More inventory to consume....

Get a cheap grinder and make your own, we make all kinds in our store with Cashews, Almonds, I like making it with fresh roasted spanish peanuts the best..

Skippy Super Chunk....
Don't give me that health food crap. I don't eat peanut butter to be healthy. I eat it because it tastes good.

One of these days a maker of natural p-nut butter will leave an inch of space in the jar so we can stir it and he'll start a revolution. The only thing I have against the natural stuff is trying to stir a full to the brim jar.
To the folks who mentioned almond butter - yeah! +1
Speaking of alternative butters - Many moons ago I sat on a hill overlooking the San Fernando Valley with a fresh loaf of bread from a local bakery, a big jar of SESAME BUTTER, a gallon jug of Franzia Brothers Zinfandel, and a girl named Barbara.
When I think of the nut butters of my life, this experience stands out.

Wayne - I used to feel the same way then discovered a device known as a "spreader"! Try it - you'll like it!

Baz, I'll see your spreader, and I'll raise you a little spatula shaped like a spoon. This will get that jar cleaner than a dog could lick it....
