I find this somewhat embarrassing to do after such a short period of ownership, but I feel that I need to put my Mog up for sale.

Literally within a week of purchasing my Mog, I got news that my company is downsizing. About 20-25% of the labor force will be cut. Though I am reasonably sure that my job is safe, there are no guarantees and I would rather see this money back in my bank account "just in case".

If anyone here can pass the word along, I appreciate it.
I currently have it listed on eBay: Mercedes Benz UNIMOG 404.1 | eBay

The reserve is low.

nooooo!!!!!!!

That blows!

Worst case scenario you can live in it:)

$15K sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

I wish I had somewhere to put her....the fact that you're only a couple states away makes this an attractive temptation.

I wonder how she would drive on I-95 down a couple states to Florida?

I also think a gas engine is more attractive than diesel if nothing else but for noise considerations.

Sorry she has to go....what a great toy!

Yeah, but it is what it is.
Things will calm down and another toy will come along.

45 mph all the way @ 11mpg. Not my idea of a fun drive.
You could probably have it brought down by a shipper for around $600 and save yourself the aggravation of a long and tedious road trip.

Some people like the diesel because there is more bottom end torque.
But... Every gas station has gas. Not every gas station has diesel. At least, not around here.
And the gas engine is a Mercedes M180. Dead simple to work on, and easy to get parts for.

That's a soft number. The reserve is less.

Posted on a local facebook group. My HOA would **** bricks or I would be on this like white on rice!

That's a good price, assuming the mechanicals are in good shape.

porsche4life 04-07-2015 02:09 PM

That's what I thought. Hard cab and the box on the back. Perfect start to all terrain camper!

That would have been a fire truck originally. From the photo you've posted, it's already had all the fire equipment and pump plumbing pulled out of the box, so yeah, off to a good start!

One thing to note; these fire trucks had air assist brakes (because of the weight) and I think the air components are NLA. If I am correct, and if it ever goes bad, you'll have to do some mods to convert to the straight hydraulic system like the other 404 models.

No... I'm pretty sure it was a TLF-3.
Only the right side is raised. The left side is flat. It's a 3-seater.

edit: here... compare it to this:

Well, did the Mog find a new home??

cashflyer 04-18-2015 07:19 PM

Mine? Not yet.
Lots of tire kickers. Nobody rolling off the greenbacks yet.

porsche4life 04-18-2015 10:09 PM

The one I posted was reposted recently at 12500. Just wish I had the space!

Any luck yet harvey? Dad just sent me this one. I'm trying to convince him he needs it. Like having a tractor, and crane truck, and a MOG all rolled into one!

1989 Freightliner FLU10344 High Mobility Material Handler in DeRidder, Louisiana, United States (IronPlanet Item #644214)

cashflyer 09-04-2015 05:15 PM

They made that one, with the crane on back and the forklift on front, and they also made one that had a scoop on front and a backhoe on the rear.

On the Steel Soldiers forum, they seem to think they are not very good vehicles. Not ideal as a material handler, and not ideal as a truck.... too many compromises, they say.

Personally, I would take the forklift off the front and use it as a all terrain crane.

To your other question, no. I have kind of stopped running ads for a while, but should get back at it. There is a military vehicle show nearby next weekend that I will take it to. I now have a full set of new tires that will go with it to whomever wants to buy it.

I wish I had an excuse for that one...
I'm glad is far from me...

Anyone who is considering one should really look at CashFlyers. I am intimate with this one in particular and it is worthy. If I had the place to store it and wasn't already vehicle poor it would be mine. It is a very clean example

widebody911 09-14-2015 05:42 PM

Took mine off-roading last weekend

I still have this one for sale if anyone is interested, price is only $32,900, which is quite a deal on a truck of this quality.
