Belt That Is TSA Friendly
Does anyone use a belt that you don't have to remove for airport security?. Like with a plastic buckle or something?
If you know of such a thing that you'd recommend, I'm all ears! |

I just wear a normal leather belt with metal buckle. Never a problem.

Thanks. I was hoping someone made a belt that was just a normal belt, no Kevlar or tactical, with a standard buckle made from plastic. Maybe I need to go shopping at the dollar store.

That's just get you a buckle that's painted pot metal.

Cabela's has a poly-strand, web-weave, belt that I have not had to remove. The buckle is either plastic or a light alloy - it is non-magnetic.

The Cabela's buckle looks fine. I would prefer a leather belt, though - for suits and so on.
Okay, I think I am reduced to getting a plastic Fastex-type buckle and putting a leather belt on it. I'll look like an imbecile, but only to those peering closely at my belt buckle.

Mine has a brass buckle, non ferrous, and is never an issue.

They are great, but $160 for a plain looking belt?

REI sells Bison design belts for $20ish. Plastic buckles. Mines is alum, I think. I still take it off at TSA. Quick and easy. B

I found these
Plastic buckle, silicone belt. The buckle is the conventional dress belt sort of thing, I suspect it would pass for black metal at any distance beyond "intimate". Or just the buckle For the guys whose non ferrous belt buckles haven't been a problem at security, does that include the backscatter scanners? If I recall, even a plastic pen in my pocket was seen with those. Last edited by jyl; 02-05-2015 at 09:09 AM.. |

I won't use the backscatter scanners I opt for a pat down, those things are not a good idea in my opinion if you travel frequently.
